So, inspired by certain posters on Bluelight that feel the need to type their name after every single post or PM that they type, I have created a new poll.

You see, one of the great features about the Bluelight software is that it automatically displays each user's name on the left hand side of each post. This was a feature that was added in 1973, after the developers and users realised that it would be quite useful to see who had actually said what. Needless to say, this addition was a great success and there was no going back. Every other forum on the web followed suit, and it is now unthinkable to have a forum without it.

So my point is: adding your name to the bottom of every post is like trying to fit wheels to a tomato - time consuming, and completely unnecessary. Additionally, it takes up space on the screen and forces anyone replying to you to take the time to delete it.

Please make your voice heard on this important issue.
 
Where is this poll that you speak of Felix? Perhaps you should get zophen to help you create one? =D

That says it all really. I will put my real name down the bottom if I'm typing a PM to someone, but that's the only time. Not going to do it where everyone can see.
 
Ah bless, you're new. You type the post, submit it, THEN you create the poll, then submit that. If takes a minute. :)
 
Yes I agree, completely unecessary but not a problem, unless you're quoting a post by zophen and you have to scroll down about 30 lines to delete his name! :)

But not my biggest worry in life so I'm sure I'll manage.
 
What's worse is dumbasses who put the same fucking smilie at the end of every post...

Me too. I'd also address the person I was pm'ing by their name if I knew it or their username.
 
What if you're logged in as another Bluelighter? Say, while you're at their house. Typing your name at the bottom would help other people identify who is actually making the post. It also helps to indicate to everyone else who is shagging who. =D

You can't have because you were in the shower too... you are a sly little sausage aren't you ;)
 
^ OMG the next thing you know, you will tell everyone that I was there to in the shower and then our secret will be out. Whoo, close call, huh? ;)
 
I should also add that this poll should be exported to each of the other forums as well........you know, just in case they dont see it in here.........I know it sounds weird but there maybe the odd person that doesnt come in here.
