PLEASE SHARE: Tying off... Interesting, easiest & most unique ways & materials.

people have used all sorts of things to tie off. From ipod cables to rubber straps to belts, people have found ways to do it. All these techniques require using your mouth at some point if you are using your arm.

Try a manual inflation blood pressure cuff and attached to the forearm, bicep, etc (above the ankle *YOu can use your non-shooting hand to stretch the skin in the case of rolling veins on your foot....). Inflate to 300 units pressure and place the release knob in the hand of the arm being used. You can then shoot, and release the cuff with no problems! There are several benefits to using a BP cuff. It is reusable, it can be released by the had that is being shot into (as long as your not shooting into your thumb or index finger), they are cheap long-term .$20. if found, will not be considered paraphernalia etc, and the pharmacy house brand can always be swapped out somehow, if it breaks, no questions asked (well usually)

What are your Ideas of materials/ techniques?

Belt? I'm I wouldn't call myself an iv drug user, but I have before.. Why not a proper rubber tourniquet? I'm just guessing those things are rubber. They're only a few bucks.

OP, the BP cuff is a good idea...sometimes in the clinical setting that is actually used for drawing blood and such. I can't really think of any other that can be used so that you don't have to utilize your hands to untie so its a good idea. And since people don't legitimately for medical reasons usually draw blood at home or inject IV meds I'm not sure why they would sell them OTC. I have never seen them but maybe they do sell them somewhere

I know some people use pantyhose because it is stretchy. Personally a wider peice of stretchy lace material works well. The secret is to tie it in a way that is secure but super easy to release.

I always used my belt to tie off, and instead of using my mouth to hold it tight, I would sit on a hard chair or surface, and would take the loose end and put it under my thigh or butt. It only takes a moment to adjust it so that it is tight. I then have both hands free. When im ready to release the tie-off pressure, i simply lift my leg/butt off the chair and voila. Hands free tie off without buying surgical rubber or anything other than a common belt..(i always wear a belt).

the best IMO are long versions of the real stretchy black belts that are often attached to shorts.. get it long enough so you can just reach down and tie.. real quiet as well.. nothing like the insanity of trying to figure out how loud you are beeing when a real IV coke bellringer hits and you still haven't got that god damn big ass metal covered belt buckle... it bads enough you think your going to seize in you grandmas rv and in your bell ringer psycoses have just heard the swat team pull up.. but really when that damn belt buckle hits thew sink because you are trying to wipe up the blood, but your fuckn kneees have just said fuck this we aren't going to really bend right for twenty minutes... your pupils are the size of your entire eye.. and shit you cant be worrying whether granny heard that belt hit the sink because you have better things to worry about like getting this gear flushed before the imaginary psycoses swat team breaks granny door down.. just messing around.. lol

something just like this with a real long and stretchy end.. tie, bite, draw, release from teeth, plunge, cap nail.. done.. and ready for the imaginary psychoses swAt team:sus: but then as the tar or raw kicks in you realize you was just thinking crazy.8(

Um my fav are the rubber tourneys from the needle exchange. Even swiped a few from a couple doc appts when they were drawin blood and left the room.
Ive used everything from shoe laces (terrible to release), my friend blows neon glass signs for a living and always has these little rubber hoses he uses to blow the hot glass and theyre perfect for tying off, theyre just like a tourney. When i was trapped in this house for a few months by this meth head forced to watch his kid all i had was a belt or a dog leash, would string the end of leash thru metal clip and itd make a nice noose like device to put your arm in. Ribbons, t shirt sleeves, really anything that was available in a pinch when i was honeless or shootin up in cars.

Now i only use exchange issued tourniquets. Ive tried to find a place to buy them other than online and have never found a place.

velcro-secured bondage cuffs, (leopard print) They weren't well made enough for their intended purpose, but they suit this purpose well

NSA..the belt...that's actually what I was talking about too. I had bought a roll of wide, stretchy lace and had a made a belt for my daughters shorts, had a whole bunch left over and fashioned a tourni from it. :)

I used my belt most of the time back when I shot up. I used to have fun spotting other junkies by the bite marks on their belts, and then calling them out on it.

I'm glad I stopped banging before I lost a bunch of weight. It'd be game over with all these easy-access veins I've got now. I've IVed a handful of times since and never had to tie off. The veins are just always... there.

I just was at Wal...... Don't know if it would be advetising so lets just say the largest pharmacy chain in the US. There generic blood pressure cuff comes with a stethascope attachment. You can use the cuff yourself and the hose from the stethascope for a friend of in a pinch..... 2 for 1!!!!!

See, I never understood the whole tying-off thing. I suppose that, after shooting up in the same few spots for some extended period of time, the veins begin to go into hiding and so "tying off" helps to bring those veins back to the surface.

I've just never had to tie off before, and so I don't know how it works exactly. I've always gone about it without tying off; I just find a good one, and wham, bam, done. It's funny, too, because I've been shooting up for some time now, more or less in the same few spots, and I haven't had any trouble. It seems to just get easier over time. I'm usually able to hit on the first try, and rarely does it take me more than, say, three pokes...

I really should know this stuff, but I don't, so let me get this straight... you tie off, poke yourself, and when you've registered and see blood in the syringe -- what -- you take the tie off and then you push off? Is that right? You don't push off with the tie still on, do you?

I got 4 clean hairbands, with a clip and a keyring. I wrap the hairbands around my arm, use the clip to grab the keyring, then when I'm done, I press the clip and it unravels itself in a violent and rapid frenzy. Risking the fact that my home made tourniquet might hit someone in the face. Also if it's loosely worn, it looks like a bracelet or a necklace.

Looks kind of like this
O Ring
0 Hairband
0 Hairband
0 Hairband
0 Hairband
V Clip

Back then though, I used to just make a noose with a shoestring and used that to tie off.

Wow, alot of people here tie off. I never did, and probably never will. Well, wait.. I lied, the first time I IV'd I tied off. BTW - I used the cars seatbelt to tie off.
Then I thought "What's the point? Other than to get veins visible" But, I don't need to make my veins visible via tie off, cause they're already visible & super huge.

It's weird for me. I used to never tie off, but ever since I used meth(even after the effects completely wore off) I feel the need to tie up.

i always found he bands snap, so bp cuffs hold up much longer and in the long run are cheaper
