Opioids Please Help Me

I caught a 6 month Heroin habit & my best friend told me about Methadone. I soon went from Heroin addict to Methadone slave. After 6 years, I got down to 30 mgs. a day. I quit cold turkey July 17 , it's now Aug 9 & I'm still going through absolute HELL. I'm on psych meds & take them. I don't understand why I'm still going through such intense withdrawals still? I'm not quitting, I've made it this far, but I really need some advice from someone who has done this please.

Another month or so of shit for u I would reckon, gettin a bit easier week by week, a 6 month h habit shoulda been done cold turkey all day but hey...it is what it is, 'done is poison

Ya my dad was a heroin addict for years, when I finally worked up the courage to tell him, I was already on methadone. He told me the same thing. Now I'm doing this & he's not here anymore to call, so here I am. This is the only place so far where ppl know what they're talking about.
