Hello all, I have been a member of this site for a while, but have a different user name that I want to protect the reputation of. Would hate for my wife or someone I know to stumble over this post.
Anyway, I have been smoking tar for ~3 months, pretty much daily. Started slow and now smoke from when I wake up until I pretty much goto sleep, averaging about .5-1gram a day. I just got myself 13 8/2mg sub strips and am ready to get my life back.
I have read a lot of horror stories of people staying on the subs too long then having a whole 'nother problem, I want to avoid this at all costs.
From my understanding I need to wait until I am in pretty heavy WD. RLS, Cold Sweats, Lethargy etc. Then start the sub and go from there. I have never WD'n from H because since I have started I have stayed pretty steady, however when I used to use roxies/norcos, my WD would normally last ~3 days, days 1 and 2 being the worst.
I have never taken suboxone before but I am planning on doing this:
Day 1: cut strip in half (4mg) take when WD's are getting going. Then take another 4mg when the sub wears off and I start to feel like shit again.
Day 2: 2mg first thing in the AM, then basically another 2mg as needed.
Day 3: basically the same as day 2, just hopefully I am able to space the dosing out more.
Day4: HOPEFULLY I am in the clear (at least enough to tough out), maybe just dose before bed if the almighty RLS is keeping me up.
Again, I have never taken subs, but my main goal here is to kick ASAP with no lingering affects. I am dead set on getting clean, for me it's now or never. I have been using opiates for a long time on and off, my Wife and family are onto me but do not have any concrete evidence, so NOW is the time.
I am COMPLETELY open to suggestions, but again my main goal is to kick asap, not looking to replace one habit with another.
