I have tested pills that have been tested as mdma am seen a green flash b4 black. I think the mandelin might just turn green to amphetamine like chemicals. (Sometimes)

Anyways yes it's possible for MDMA to mask the PMA color. However, usually the pills in question will produce a slightly dirty test result. Parts of it not properly reacting, very slow reaction speed, spots with a slightly different color in the reagent,.... because it is economically unfeasible to mix a high amount of MDMA with PMA so usually PMA-pills are quite dirty and this shows in the reaction
There are one or two cases known that have a mixture of MDMA/PMA with test results indicative for MDMA only so indeed it is never 100% safe. A full testkit with all reagents (Marquis, mandelin, simons and mecke) will provide additional certainty as multiple reagents could show abnormalities that a single one doesn't show. Only way to be sure is gc/ms
