Aye Everyone..

So I went on a 7 day Phenibut bender, but the last two days or so I tapered my use down to about 1-2G a day from about 4-6G before. So my last dose of Phenibut was yesterday morning and was about 1G.

Today I got my Lyrica prescription and I took 750mg, and it helped but I almost experiencing SEVERE anxiety, and tachycardia and I also think my BP is up there but I don't want to check because I am on verge of having massive panic attacks. I am trying to keep calm, my heart rate is about 96BPM - so i don't think that is too dangerous. Phenibut is brutal - I think I will just stick to GHB. I also notice water retention after binging with Phenibut and also broke out in a bit of a rash.

fuck - how long is phenibut w/d?? I have no benzos as I really don't want to go down that road as I had a 5 year benzo habit and detoxed 6 months ago.

Any help would be appreciated, peace BL.

I recall you mentioning you had a GHB habit. It is not inconceivable that the phenibut is actually carrying on a good percentage of the GHB w/d. Think of it as using hydrocodone while being addicted to heroin: the hydro will stop the heroin w/d, but you will still have opiate w/d if you stop the hydro.

Btw, these doses are pretty large, and there is a chance they're not healthy for your kidneys.

I honestly don't know what you can do for phenibut w/d, as it is very unique. Try using l-theanine supplements? Also, try the anticholinergic (diphenhydramine) trick I mentioned in your GHB thread. I don't know if it works or not, but still worth a shot.

^ Thanks JamShyd - I really respect you on this board (my fellow Canadian).

I think I fried the fuck out of my GABA-B Receptors.
Tolerance seems to build extremely fast with GABA-B Agonists - does anyone else notice this?

Anybody knows how kong it usually takes for GABA-B to rebalance receptors? Is it longer than GABA-A?

I didn;t know phenibut caused w/d after 7 days, I could be wrong, but with GHB I can see it more clearly

Does anybody know if there is anything I can do to get rid of this fucking headache thats been going on for 2 days now. Ibuprofen 600mg doesn't even touch it. ugh 8(

Lots of experience in this arena, I am a GABA-B whore. I replied in the other thread, over in EADD. But Jam is spot on with his statement about carrying over the GHB withdrawals....Also, Treacle over in EADD is a GABA-B samurai....cheers, the Lyrica will help, it is a strange one, give it a little time.......hang in there<3

I had a terrible experience withdrawing from phenibut. I took 6-7 grams a day for about a month and a half. Impossible to sleep, cold sweats, pounding headaches, not to mention terrible terrible anxiety, which is what i used it for in the first place. Best thing to do is to taper off gradually. Treat it like a benzo.

Yes I am also a HUGE GABA-B Whore as well. The GABA-B Agonists are way more euphoric to me than GABA-A Agonists. I really find GHB to be more euphoric and pleasurable than most people do. When I have GHB, I have a hard time stopping redosing. :\

help or advice

I tried to send you a private note but cannot because i just joined and have not recieved buelighter status yet.
I was reading one of your old posts from 07 I think about two weeks before you were going into detox Hope that worked. anyhow me and my wife have been on oxys for six years and are moving to alberta next week and we have a doctor and all but he's kind of a jerk. He's the one who originally put us on oxys. I take 120mgs daily and the wife 80mgs
but my wife is always in tons of pain now thre saying she might have fibramalgia. and he won't up her dosage 40mgs or so so she ends up taking some of mine putting me short. we used to take over 400mgs and got ourself's out of control but managed to get back on track. we have never bought of the street and we don't do any other drugs. We were hoping this doctor you have or had might see us its so hard to find one thats understanding.
this months been so hard with the move it has almost killed us plus we have a four year old.
it might be the first month i have to look elsewere for some extra pills
if our doctor is a jerk
anyhow see you in alberta we,ve been away two years and miss it so if your doc is a good doctor maybe he'll help
thanks
I just registered tonight after seeing your the first person from alberta while surfing for tolerance to oxys
please reply and we could talk if thats okay
i don't know the rules of this site if you can use a name or give out emails or anything but i'll sure learn if it can help.
Thankyou from missing Alberta

OK well I have half of an OxyContin 80mg so I have 40mg of OxyContin. Do you guys think this will help with phenibut withdrawals at all? I am just experiencing a lot of anxiety, and kind of tightness in my chest, and tachycardia.

Would the Oxy make it worse? If I just took 20mg or something? I used to be fully blown addicted to Oxycodone which got up to a 600mg habit daily at one point. I haven't touched any opiate or opioid in 6 months now. Do you guys think 20mg of OxyContin would help me out?

Also I think part of the tachycardia today could be contributed to taking way too much Lyrica (825mgs) as I have been off Lyrica for awhile and just recently got put back on it so that is a very high dosage for me.

Anyone shed some light on this please? I have no benzo's. :(

did a little research and found this posted bye somene if it helps

Here's my story. I kinda took nyquil frquently for sleep during last semester in college due to loud dorms. Soon, I found a supplement from Biotest called Z-12. There was one user there that a compound called Phenibut in Z-12 was addictive and can have bad withdrawal symptoms. But the moderators there said it doesn't so I just went ahead and bought it. That was around in April. I used it sort of continuously until end of May, basically the end of the semester. When I got home, I stopped using it all together since I was home and it's nice and quiet at home. This is when I started noticing some problems. I noticed that my caffeine tolerance went way down. I was never really a coffee drinker. I only used caffeine to help me concentrate while studying once in awhile. I used to be able to drink 3 cups of coffee per day and be fine, but even some dark chocolate had an effect on me. I also noticed that my resting heart rate went up to around 70-80 from around 50s range. I also had insomnia for a week. I read up on phenibut withdrawal and learned that all the symptoms I had was typical and the withdrawal phase takes about a week, and up to two weeks according to wikipedia.

So after that week of no sleep, I finally was able to sleep normally. I thought I was done for good with phenibut withdrawal and vowed to myself that I will never touch the stuff again. Well, fast forward to last week, which is about a month after stopping the use of Biotest Z-12. I started noticing heart palpitations. I could feel my heart beat strongly. I measured my resting heart rate and it was still around 70-80 beats per minute instead of 50 beats per minute. I guess my resting heart rate never went down even after that week of withdrawal phase. I started having bad sleep again and on Thursday, I couldn't take it anymore so I went to see my doctor. I explained to him everything and he told me he never heard of phenibut... Anyways, he told me that if I used to take that for sleep, the reason for my elevated heart rate and insomnia is because my body is still addicted to the stuff. He prescribed a medicine called Rozerem, which is supposed to be non-habit forming and works with your body to reset your sleep cycle back to normal. But he explained to me that it usually takes his patients about a month to see results. I took me that night and it allowed me to go to sleep peacefully that night. The next day, I noticed that my heart palpitations were gone. I measured my resting heart rate and it was back to the low 50's range. Although the medicine had side effects such as drowsiness during the day, I was happy. I'm still taking the medication (it's only day 5) but I noticed my resting heart rate went back up to 70-80s range and it's been up there since Sunday.

I know the original post is old, but I don't think many of the questions were answered. It seems like most people report the withdrawal syndrome lasting about a week. The anxiety is horrible in most cases and there isn't much you can do but wait it out. Many people report having withdrawal symptoms after using phenibut for as little as three days if the dosage is too high (4g/day could be too much)... and it seems as though in these cases the withdrawal syndrome may be shorter depending on the period of use. A good rule of thumb for phenibut is a follows: spend more days off than you do on and you can most likely avoid a problem (eg. take two days off after a day's use or 4 days off after using it for two days and try not to exceed three days in a row). Also, never take more than 3g at a time (3g is a large dose). Give your GABA-B receptors a break. Oh, and hey, benzos might help a little with withdrawals, opiates will help a lot. When they wear off you will feel shitty again and both can lead to their own withdrawal syndrome which can overlap with your phenibut withdrawals (and then you'd be in a real world of hurt)
