Pethidine - What are the effects?

This is purely to satisfy a curiosity, because someone I know was recently prescribed 50mg Pethidine tabs for gall stones.
What are the effects, and are they used recreationaly (is it worth it, in other words)?

Pethidine is another name for meperidine, i.e. it's the same as Demerol, an opiate. Unfortunately I have no personal experience with this so i don't have anything useful to say about it.
 
yes, they are most definitely recreational. they are gems. take a couple and find out for yourself. forwarned: you may experience nausea, itching and lightheadedness, not to mention EUPHORIA

If you like opiates, I'm fairly sure you'll like this stuff.
I LOVE opiates, yet I despise demerol (pills, IV is wonderful).
I know a few other people who feel the same. I'm interested to hear what you have to say on them.
As far as waiting for your friend...How many does he have? He's going to want some painkillers, but, if he only has a few, go ahead and take them, leave him one or two. He can call his doctor and tell him he ran out...He'll probably RX more.
If he has a lot, then eat away!

Ok so the score is this. I know quite a few people in the nursing industry, and well my part-time job is in a hospital, so...
Ketalar vials... can you drink them? or just dry out and rail it?
Actually have been told, you don't IV, only IM the vials... correct?
Pethidene... can u crush and rail? im assuming you can being an opiate..?
without scripts, i'm hoping a few things might "fall" my way. Also, dosage for peth/ket? Ketalar vials (in my experience) are 200mg/vial which is a muthafuka of a ride.

DO NOT SNIFF DEMEROL it is the most painful thing to sniff,it numbs your tongue like coke but it burns theshit out of it first. demerol is a great drug, feel very euphoric, but you only need about 2 50mg pills, anymore youll get nauseous, never got quisy from opiates except for when i mixed demerol with other substances, even weed,

Just sending this one back to the top rather than asking my questions in a new thread...
I still haven't tried these 50mg Pethidine pills yet. If I eventually do, I need some advice from you peoples since I have never had any form of opiate before.
So here's my questions:
1) How long will pethidine last if taken oraly?
2) How much would make a good beginner dose? (I'm not stoopid - I'll start low and build up, but I was wondering where the line between euphoria and overdose is for someone new to opiates).
3) Is it better to take on a full or empty stomach?
4) What will the effects be like? (Feel free not to answer that one - I only threw it in for those that could be bothered, cos I know it's a pretty stupid question but would be interested to hear what people say)

1)Usually lasts 3-4 hours.
2) You can try 50mg to make sure you aren't hypersensitive to opiates but you won't get much euphoria. So I would say take 100mg your first time. You can take up to 300mg orally if you have no tolerance and be ok as long as you don't mix with other depressants.
3) I would take it on an empty stomach.

), what would be the "come up" time for these? For example, MDMA has an aproximate 30 minutes come up that happens suddenly. Will these creep up on me, or hit me like a train all of a sudden after a certain amount of time?

Make sure that your friend does have access to more. If they gave her demerol, she's probably gonna need it. Gall stones hurt, and the surgery will also hurt. Don't rip off your friend if she really needs the pain relief. She should check with her doctor because many are DEA bitches and consequently are quite stingy with controlled substances. It depends on the doc, though.
 
You can start to feel the effects after about 30 minutes, and almost invariably reach the peak after about 1 hour. You will mostly likely stay at the peak for the next 2-3 hours and then the effects will fade. Don't take them too regularly or you will get constipated.

Pethidine is not meperdine(demerol) it's a totally other opiod.

If you say so. BTW, you should write to the DEA and tell them to edit the CSA and get rid of those parentheses next to Pethidine that say meperidine.

Well, I have nothing constructive to add to this thread, except to say that I THINK I've had demerol/pethadine(they wouldn't tell me at the hospital, or maybe they did
I can't remember. So anyway it was the BEST!! I love opiates, & this was just such a brilliant high,differnt though,a bit on the barbituate side of high, but to me thats all good!!
Friends came to vist me after I left the hospital & were totally freaked out about how totally elated I was.I want some more!!

Yeah trust the dea and belive that there is "clues" on the medicine bottles...
You don't think that Pethidine Hydrochlorid and Meperdine Hydrochlorid is different substances?! i do atleast!!
 
I ate demerol (meperedine) sp? orally and it didnt do shit except upset my stomach, ate like 3 pills too...cant really speculate on dosage. was NOTHING like a good oxycodone or hydrocodone high... i mean really, i felt NOTHING out of these.
pretty worthless to me, but then again i hear GREAT things about those demerol shots you can scam for 'kindey stones'.... might have to try that one....
