Is it true that you have to have posted 50 messages in order to post a personal message? I received a PM from Pete who will be my guide as I learn the site, but I don't think I can answer and I don't want him to think I am ignoring him.

Lolalady, your PM's are restricted until you reach 50 posts. You should still be able to send and receive them, but you have to wait a few hours in between.

There are certain IRQ channels that act as an unoffical BL room, but they have no affiliation with the site.

There's also a tinychat room, the links for which can be found in The Lounge.

Gabbly was another ad-hoc chat system set up by users, again unaffiliated with BL.
 
Whats the rule on greenlighters recieving pms? I was trying to pm this dude who contacted me but it said his box was full or he wasnt allowed to recieve anymore or some bs like that.
 
^It is, haha much smaller. I believe Greenlighters inboxes hold 5 PMs and thats for outbox and inbox, iirc.
