I know this has been touched on however I couldn't find an answer to my question. I have a tolerance to opioids and wants to potentiate. I can't find GFJ anywhere so bought grapefruit seed extract which contains 250mg of grapefruit seed extract per capsule. First, how many should I take. Second, how long do I take the extract before the Percocet. And finally the bottle said to take the extract with food... does this matter or will taking it with food just make the Percocet less potent? Any help would be greatly appreciated and if there is anything scientific to back it up that would be of great help as well. Thank you all for your time :)

In my own experience none of the so called "potentiators"for opiates or benzos really work,at least for me.Eating food with pills or close to your dose time will definitely diminish the effects of your medications.Food soaks up pills. If I take my pills first(like when I first wake up)I wait at least one, preferably two hours before I eat anything. This helps ensure your pills have completely dissolved and been absorbed.Even then food seems to diminish the effects somewhat. If you've already eaten,it's best to wait 3-4 hours to take your pills.Taking pills with hot liquids helps break them down faster and thus hit you a bit better.I personally have good results with crushing my pills into a fine powder between two spoons and taking them like a BC powder with a cup of hot coffee or tea.Hope this helps.

I don't think grapefruit seed extract has the same compounds that are in grapefruit juice (pith, flesh, etc)... you can try but don't expect miracles.

Hey bro, that seed extract probably won't help you. Try picking up some tagamet (cimetidine) and it does the same thing as GFJ as far as I know (effects same enzyme). Take 400-1000mg an hour before you dose, and the effect should be slightly stronger and last longer as well.
Also look into small amounts of DXM and antihistamines. DON'T combine with benzos.

Agreed.

I would go with the cimetidine as well, but like the poster I quoted above this I've never found it to be worth it to try to potentiate opioids. At best there is a slightly extended duration of the high, but the difference is negligible. I've only heard it to be worth it for some people on methadone maintenance that feel withdrawals starting a few hours before their next dose, and for some of them taking cimetidine allows for them to avoid withdrawals between doses.
