I started taking Dexedrine 2 days ago... 45mg IR over the course of the day the first, 80ish mg over the course of today. And for the purpose of reference, I love coke on occasion, but will do an 8ball or so maybe 1 night every 1-3 years.
I tried 15mg Dex (Barr) sublingually a while ago (what a difference as opposed to oral by the way!), and after 5 or 10 minutes of having put the 6 quarters under my tongue, I developed a drip in my right nostril, as well as a very strong whiff of that obvious and wonderful cocaine smell (only in the nostril I developed the drip in... and NO I haven't done any coke recently
). I was at a gas station, so I brushed it off as someone in a car next to me having a fat sack of some coke with a real strong smell, but over the next ~45min, it happened 3 or 4 different times in different locations (and is still happening every now and then, ~1hr after ingesting the Dex).
Now, listed as a Dexedrine side effect is "Craving for Cocaine", but I'd assume that's due to the speediness and euphoria that some get which could be compared to a mild form of cocaine. I have ADD / concentration issues and take it therapeutically (self employed internet marketer... and long projcts or coding without Amps is NOT easy at all for me. Hell, it's next to impossible) and don't get any of the speediness, and only mild but pleasant euphoria. The max dosage I have taken Orally is only 20mg (which I didn't experience this with), and max Sublingually is 15mg, so I *doubt* it is eliciting a craving for Cocaine (unless it's a subconscious picking up on an effect that the conscious mind can't actively discern).
I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with Dex, or if your opinion is that it could be an offshoot of the "Craving for Cocaine" side effect. The way I figure it is there could be a subconscious craving going on which is convincing the brain that I am actually smelling it. Does that sound likely?
Hell, I'm not complaining... I love the smell of coke. But that smell alone makes me wish I had a bag
