People's drug ignorance

What do you do when people say dumb, untrue things about drugs. When people said ignorant things about drugs around me, I use to tell them they were fucking idiots adn told them the truth about the drug and to go educate themselves. Most of them didn't believe me, so I just ignore them now.

I think it's sad when people say completely unfounded things about drugs. But I was at one time as ignorant as most people as to what drugs were all about, and the consequences. I actually beleived what I heard - that drugs were just 'bad' and bad things happened to people that used them. And it wasn't until I met someone that knew what they were talking about that introduced me to what drugs were all about.
So what I usually do, if someone says something, is refer them to a credible site like Erowid or something, and tell them to actually read up on it. I guess I don't fit the classic drug-user image that most people think, so they are usually surprised when I give them my opinion.

The biggest drug ignorance that I've heard lately from non-users is about ecstasy. Usually I hear the wonderful little bit about how it's a "four hour full body orgasm" I don't know about everyone else in the world, but I think that a four hour full body orgasm would probably kill me, or at least put me in withdrawal after it was over

I've also heard the one about how if you even touch someone who is rolling they'll have an orgasm. When I hear these kind of things it makes me think all drugs should be legalized just on the idea that once people TRY things they won't MAKE UP things, and then I won't have to listen to this mindless prattle.

I heard on the news today about Sebastian Janikowski, the kicker for the Oakland Raiders. Apparantly he passed out on the dance floor of a club and had to get stitches on his face and it is allegedly due to some sort of drug use.
The ignorant part (besides the obvious) was the newscasters words. He said,"The incident happened due to an overdose of *in a slow pronounced manner for emphasis* G H B, which is of course known on the streets as ecstasy."
Is that right, Martin Wyatt? I don think so!

1) Don't believe that drugs ARE (generally) bad for you
2) Believe all the lies generated by the media and do them anyway

I'm of the opinion any one can think what they like (they are anyway), most people who are ignorant about drugs aren't really ignorant they just don't give a fuck about them. They don't care that Ecstacy is made of MDMA and that pills aren't a mixture of heroin, coke and anthrax.
It appeares to me that most people who get het up about others ignorance of their wonderful life changing substance value the drugs to highly. If you get equaly offended by someone dissing e's as you do your mum it's time to take a step back. So what if what they think is wrong, is the reason your offended because of a guilt, "that persons thinks i'm stupid for taking heroin+coke+anthrax e pills" so you want to somehow prove yourself, denying to yourself that prehapse you are doing damage? Or is it an elitest thing i'm a drugie my brain is expanded bollocks. Don't get me wrong I enjoy drugs but seriously life is to short to worry about people who don't agree with you, it's called free choice and everyone has it.

There not ignorant they just have different views and intrests in life, they don't value the same things as you. This is a basic fact of life that we all see life from our own view point, trying to see through someones eyes is pointless as it's biased by your own perception. What im basically trying to say is what you find important and should be shouted from the roof tops others don't give a toss about. If ya read my post again I wasn't talking about uninformed drug user I was on about uninformed non users altough it crosses to some extent.

haha, ya, at school there are lots of ignorant people......especialy ignorant about drugs, haha. I hear people sayin shit in the halls like "Ya man, the E around here has so much shit in it you are probiby poisoning yourself more than U are getting high" and fuck, these people havent even done E before! I dont care what those people say or think because they are non drug users.
Now there are those other people who DO do E, and they make up bullshit like "yada yada E around here is so fucking pure i thought I was going to die yada yada" when really the pills they are getting is Ephedrine...now THOSE are the people, who I think, should be educated...get it?

Even the people i get high with everyday are incredibly ignorant about drugs, telling me about their herion-laced E n shit.. And they luaghed and called me a looser when i said that i was going to do acid by myself for a better experience (mushrooms by myself was an awesome setting..).. they also dont share my veiws that doin acid or mushrooms is more than just getting "fucked up"
