People in HE with social anxiety

I have social anxiety, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, agoraphobia and minor OCD. I decided to take online courses for the time being until I get help for my anxiety. I am prescribed Klonopin [use on an as-needed-basis] and Cymbalta, both for anxiety [which doesn't work] and depression [which has helped lift my mood a bit].

Well, I have been accepted onto the course and I had a brief discussion with my tutor. He said that until I feel I have made progress with my psychologist, I will not have take part in any class presentations and that I will be assessed on separate assesments. He made it clear that they will be offering me as much support as they can and that my SAD shouldn't hold me back, if I am determined to succeed.

good for you electrolyte. you may want to look into propranolol for panic attacks if you happen to get those in situations where you may have to socialize or present. they reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety but dont fuck you up the way benzos do. i love benzos, dont get me wrong, but only when i dont NEED to use them.

For everyone who suffers from public speaking phobias, listen carefully: BETA BLOCKERS. I will repeat this one more time BETA BLOCKERS. I have/ or did have, before beta blockers(somewhat over it to an extent) a horrible fear of public speaking. I had tried xanax, klonopin, valium, booze, all with little help. Well they did numb the fear at high enough doses, but they were just temorary bandaides. Then I found beta blockers. Forget about the racing heart beat, sweat hands, and shakey voice. With beta blockers, all physical symptoms disapear. Give it a try. With determination and beta blockers any speach is possible.

and if you didnt hear me....BETA BLOCKERS....
I know how it is man, but you can do it.
You have to take that little monkey on your back(social anxiety), and fight the bitch. You cant let him control your life. If you need any tips/advice on how to conquer your fear pm me. I dont have all the answers, but I figured a few things out over the last few speaches in college.

i wouldnt give up in pursuing what you want to do. you should definetly try some cbt .. it really challenges your thought processes and continuous exposure to your fears can be really effective.
