Next plant review.

this 100:1x extract i already tested last year and found it to be quite useful and active via nasal administration. its rather pleasant with a unique mode of action. somewhat amusing headspace, not really antidepressing or calming (relaxing) but enjoyable nonetheless. i think i had it along with some bdo.

short summary how its psychoactive effects are described in the net:

Passiflora Incarnata can make it easier to fall asleep and relieve nervous restlessness.

here is what the encyclopedia delivers, again stating that this myth of harmala content is just a myth, although i found no paper adressing this issue:

Harman alkaloids were previously considered to be the active principles of Passiflora incarnata and other species (LöHDEFINK and KATING 1974; cf. ß-carbolines, harmine and harmaline).''S Occasionally it is stated in the literature that in 100 g dried passiflora ticarnata herb contains about 10 mg harmane alkaloids;
this amount of salary is strongly doubted (MEIER 1995b: 120). Cinnamic acid derivatives and coumarins may have been mistaken for harmans in the analysis (MEIER et al. 1994: 38). Maltol (a γ-pyrone), considered the main active ingredient, is a by-product produced in the
Heating of the raw drug occurs and cannot be responsible for the effect. According to the latest research results However, the C-glycosylflavones apigenin and luteolin were recognized as the main active substances (MEIER 1995b: 120, MEIER 1995a, MEIER et al. 1994). The following compounds are present in Passiflora incarnata: vicenin-2, isoorientin-2"-O-glucoside, Shaftoside, Isoshaftoside, Isoorientin, Isovitexin-2"-O-glucoside, Isovitexin and Swertisin. Orientin and Vitexin are only in small traces present. Saponarin, which was previously also described as an ingredient, is missing (MEIER 1995a). Passiflora jorullensis contains passicol, harmol, harman, harmin, harmalol and harmaline (EMBODEN 1979: 1870.
The slimy pulp (fruit pulp) of passion fruit (Passiflora editlis) primarily contains 2 to 4% citric acid, relative low ascorbic acid (only 20 to 50 mg per 100 g of pulp), carotenoids (0.5 to 2.5 mg per 100 g of pulp), starch and over 200 Flavorings (MEIER 1995b: 116ff.). Whether harmans actually occur in the fruit is not occupied.
The root of Passifora involucrata is apparently rich in ß-carbolines with MAO-inhibiting properties. The chemistry of the flowers of Passtlora foetida has not yet been elucidated (ARGUETA V. et al. 1994: 1190.

from the following paper:

2008 - ANTIRADICAL ACTIVITIES OF THE EXTRACT OF PASSIFLORA INCARNATA

1. The data of the investigation show that the Passiflora extract has not only sedative but also antiradical activity. The ethanol extract binds free radicals more effectively than the water extract.
2. The strongest antiradical effect among the investigated flavonoids (chlorogenic acid, hyperosid, isovitexin, caffeic acid, quercetin, luteolin, orentin, rutin, scutelarein, vicenin and vitexin) was predetermined by vicenin, isovitexin and orentin. The antiradical activity increases with the increase of the concentration of the mentioned materials.
3. Quercetin catches the free radicals more effectively than rutin, scutelarein and luteolin.

2018 - Flavones-bound in benzodiazepine site on GABAA receptor

Conclusion
Altogether, our findings demonstrate a concomitant anxiolytic-like and cognitive-enhancement effect produced by Isovitexin and 6-C-glycoside-Diosmetin. These flavones modulate GABAA receptors via their benzodiazepine-binding site, such as Diazepam, which may result in anxiolytic-like behaviour. We suggest that cognitive-enhancements as observed in the group treated with Isovitexin and 6-C-glycoside-Diosmetin, may be the result of a lack of interaction in a1His101 in the BZ-binding site on GABAA receptors. Additional approaches are required to understand the mechanisms involved in these processes. These findings suggest that Isovitexin and 6-C-glycoside-Diosmetin provide novel therapeutic approaches that may be employed for anxiety disorders.

Ye..I tried this stuff. Some fully legal pill extract...it helps for insomnia.....,but i don't like the effects at all.some bad feelings in da head.vertigo.not suitable for me.valeriana is better.....for me

i think isovitexin is supposed to be the main active princpiple but cannot back this up with reference.

valeriana is better.....for me

ok, never tried this. it is sold in pharmacies over here otc and i try to avaoid those places, always walk out with some paracetamol and maybe a syringe, thats it. free healthcare my ass...

I don't know the active ingredients of the plant.think it's have some MAOI properties.....it's usefull like sleep agent, but not proper personally for me

I don't know the active ingredients of the plant.think it's have some MAOI properties

nope, no maoi as c. rätsch is cited, this is a myth. its a flavonoid or different flavonoids active via gaba-a receptors.
