How fucking ironic. I use xanax for my panic attacks and I lost my bottle at the mall, which in turn is causing me to have a panic attack. I have an extremely intense job promotion interview tomorrow and this is just perfect timing. Please spirits above have mercy on me. If I ever needed anything as important in such a short period of time this is it. I hope my doctor shows compassion and puts in another prescription for me tomorrow.

If not I do not think I will make it through the inteverview without it. I get extremely nervous and talk in circles, which is bad. I never get to the point. As well as I am so focused on not panicing that I can't communication effectively.

:(

I'm kinda the same way. I get nervous and tend to not make sense or sound confident in my abilities. I have ativan if I feel that I need it but I haven't used it for over a year. The best way to overcome these feelings naturally is to take long deep breaths and allow your mind to not get the best of your body. If I feel tense I'll just take a deep breath. What works for me may work for you

Deep breathing exercise and meditation beforehand can be helpful. If you are unable to get any medication, it may turn out to be an opportunity to face one of your fears. Whether it goes well or not, you'll know that you were able to have the experience and survive. Best of luck :)

^Bump , I've lost my script before, normally they can write you for a week and that won't be too bad to cover even if insurance will not. Good luck tink.

Actually I called the store and someone turned it into the customer service desk, So I was able to get it back. Thanks guys :)

Lucky no BL drug fiends got their hands on it, they prob'ly wouldn't have been so nice =D.

Thats wonderful news. I dont think Ill ever hear of another story like that. I dont even think my grandma would turn in a script if she found one while power walking around the mall. Im glad a good soul found your bottle and did the right thing. Its nice to hear happy endings some times.

i have a xanax script as well.

i never carry the whole bottle with me.

ususally just pocket a couple in case i need them. i usually don't need them but they're my safety blanket.

glad you found em. how'd the interview go?

Good for you, TINK - obviously you had some good karma coming your way! <3

Hope the interview went just as well.

I wouldn't recommend carrying a controlled substance in anything other than its original container from the pharmacy. You can always leave the rest at home. That's what I tend to do - only carry as much Xanax/Valium as I think I might need in the original bottle, and leave the rest safely at home.

If you haven't, you might want to consider Inderal. It's non-controlled and written off-label for panic disorder/stage fright, though its primary indication is for high blood pressure. My blood pressure is generally low-to-low end of normal and I smack my head getting out of bed in the morning if I take it, so I've discontinued it. It helps others tremendously.

Non-pharmaceutical techniques such as yoga, Pilates, and cognitive-behavioral therapy can also put a big dent in your level of anxiety.

Damn you're one lucky dude. But then most who are on benzos have a script and you might have benefited from somone like that who knew how important it was to you. Anyway great news. It's sary to run out of or lose something you need.

Amen to that!

Thanks for that info about Inderal. I have a 19yo son with extreme social anxiety... to the point he dropped out of college because he couldn't handle living in a dorm and sitting in a class next to someone he doesn't know. He went to a small private HS and didn't fit well in there either... He's had a lot of counseling but I've always told the dr to NOT prescribe benzos... because I'm worried he'd like them and follow in ole dad's footsteps. That wouldn't be good.... especially since he likes booze. I'm pretty sure he needs something though [other than anti-deps] because he is just way to shy and has low self esteem. We always thought a job would bring him out, but he says the inertview always goes bad for him.... Inderal... maybe thats it??
