Hello! Sorry, if this is not OD material, but ADD complains about low thread quality, and I decided not bother them, and I also though that this thread is more appropriate for OD rather than BDD. Anyway, OD mods will decide :)

Ok, to the thread title.
Recently I noticed that drugstores in my country started selling small oxygen cylinders(tanks?). Each cylinder contains 6 liters or 14 liters of mixture of 80% oxygen and 20% nitrogen.

Of course, I remembered that "oxygen can make you high". I heared this statement from many places, even Fight Club notes it. Well, I checked what erowid knows about this. So, it is a myth :(, but oxygen induces a calm, relaxed state.

Also, I read that oxygen may be toxic

Anyway, now I am wondering, what are the possible uses of oxygen for the average bluelighter like me? For example, breathing oxygen during psychedelic trip?

Does anybody have experiences to share?

mixed with a fuel gas (acetylene, propane, etc) it is a very useful when regulated and routed through torches .
i have had it pre and post op and getting 'high' would seem to be a crock.

emphysema sufferers in late stages drag it around and i hardly think they are getting 'high'

save your money and rest your imagination.

I can't think of any beside when it is indicated for medical application and maybe some new age therapeutic ideas.
If you breath just that mix you might lower CO2 levels enough in your blood to make you light headed similar to hyperventilating (alkaline blood).

Or you can listen to The Sweet's Love is Like Oxygen. It is a rather good song.
"You get too much you get too high, not enough and you're gonna die."

Since this isn't a recreational drug nor are you inquiring about anything harm reduction related, I'm going to close this. If you're looking for information about combining it with psychedelics, check out that forum.

If you're looking for health issues, check out healthy living.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me :)

Breathing oxygen at higher than normal concentrations is unadvisable at worst (due to increased oxidative stress) and at best useless in a healthy individual.

I would assume breathing elevated concentrations of O2 might effect mental state under extreme stress, but it's definitiely not a psychedelic.

Carbogen on the other hand...
