Hi I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right category for this post

I started taking 10mg pills once a day about one month ago, yesterday I decided to stop and felt quiet tired in the morning and a bit sad but nothing to bad, but in the afternoon i was exausted and my nose started running and I felt like I have a flu, I was like this the all night I slept really bad. This morning the sympthomes continue and I had back pain which I don't know if is from the bad sleep. I took other 10mg pill a few hours ago and the sympthomes stop. Can you get addicted so quick and with so low doses?

I'll be really thankful for a reply..

Yes. lasts 3-5 days depending on the person, then steadily gets better. All your symptoms are related to opiate withdrawal. 10 mg a day is a very small habit. That is a habit where the withdrawal is actually like just having the flu. If you intend to stop using these pills then do not take anymore as of now or you will start back at day 1 of feeling bad. Just an FYI, most people on here who have gone through this have done it doing easily 20-30x what you have been using for longer periods of time.

I suggest take a couple days off work/school if you can, stay hydrated, take a multi vitamin, try to eat regularly even though it can be hard and if you can't sleep try an OTC sleep aid. But if you are sleeping at least 4-5 hours then don't waste your time and definitely do not use anything stronger than OTC. With large habits like I mentioned you basically cannot sleep in withdrawal. Unless you take dangerous amounts of powerful sedatives. But in your case it sounds like you slept some so don't do anything drastic because you had a few poor nights of sleep.

Just remember that it will pass and that there is nothing seriously wrong with you.

You will likely be a little tired and depressed after the withdrawal ends. That will go away, too, but it takes a little longer. This is called post-acute withdrawal and in 2-3 weeks you should be back to your normal self. You won't feel sick like you do now, just less enthused and such, also you might get a strong urge to use opiates.

stop now if you can, this will just get worse with time..... a lot worse.

Yes. Yes you can, and yes you are. I'd quit now while ya can do so easily.

This.

You are psychically dependent on opiates. Good news is that it's very early on so you can stop now pretty easily. The longer you continue to use and stay addicted, the harder it will be to come off and the worse your withdrawal symptoms will become.

I am on a low dose of percocet that I use if my back pain flares up. If I take the pills for a few days, then stop, the day I stop I will feel exhausted. If I have been using them for a longer stretch, then stop, then other withdrawal symptoms kick in, but exhaustion is the first to hit.

Everyone starts off somewhere. 10mg's of oxycodone used to get me high. Yes you will get withdrawals. They wont even be that bad so I suggest you let your body recover fully before taking more. Eventually your tolerance will go up and it wont be so easy to stop.

Agreed. Stop now while you can so much more easily...you never know where the road leads from here..

Also, just to let you know, what you are experiencing is physicxal dependence, not necessarily addiction. (Sorry guys, just want everyone to understand the difference-so many people in the world think it is one and the same and it is not).

Before 7 years ago I couldn't take a 10mg lorcet w/out getting nauseous and having to lie down. I NEVER took pain meds cause they made me sick. The past 7 years my body has give out on me in bad ways. I started getting darvocet then 5mgvicodin and now I am up to 15 10mg methadone a day plus 3 30mg roxies for breakthru.Even when I was on 10mg lorcets I'd feel miserable when I ran out. Now if I run out its pure misery. Withdrawal is bad enough but when it is multiplied with valid chronic pain it is pure hell. You are definitely experiencing wd's but at least your dose is fairly low. It truly is a catch 22. Without the meds many people can't work or do anything really but on the other hand you are big pharma's bitch for life. Be thankful you aren't going through methadone wd's. Oxy wds for me hit fast and hard but methadone wds last forever. That being said if I could only take one of the two, I'd prefer methadone.

I have experienced the same symptoms of withdrawal. I always get the runny nose and sneeze a ton! It gets better in a few days, but it sounds like your symptoms aren't severe. Stop while you are ahead. If you continue using the wd symptoms become more severe.
