Hi all. i was wondering on th effects of mixing methadone and roxy.
Last night i took 15 mg methadone and got a very slight buzz. i was wondering if 20 mg methadone and maybe 15 mg oxy would produce anything significant.
I have heard methadone has blocking effects to other opiates so i wanted to be sure before i mixed the two. if i wont be feeling the oxy then i may just get 30-40 mg of methadone.
any advice is greatly appreciated/

Dont know about the blocking thing at all.
But go slow with methadone bud.. If 15mg wasnt enough, maby go for 22,5mg before 30mg or even 20mg.
Just use your common sense with this opioid.

Methadone only effectively blocks opioids at blocking doses, which are higher, however when I've mixed methadone and oxycodone, it usually leads to the methadone overpowering the euphoric effects of the oxycodone, basically wasting the oxycodone and adding to side effects.

My personal opinion on the use of methadone is as follows:

Pros:
-Methadone is an incredible drug with pros and cons
-Methadone is most effective when used as a tool, not as a toy
-Methadone can be great for certain types of chronic pain, and long-term pain management
-Long half-life
Cons:
-Long half-life
-Heavily sedating
-Lack of euphoria/desired effects
-Methadone has the worst PAWS of any opioid I've taken (With oxymorphone having the worst acute WD)
-Dependency builds quickly
-It's extremely potent, raising your tolerance so that you need much higher doses of other opioids, for example oxycodone.
-Sexual side effects

I thought I could add something but tricomb said it all. I too used the combo methadone/oxy for many years in Pain Management. When I got up beyond 10mg of Methadone/day I lost all euphoria from the oxy.

The pros and cons ^ are right on the money with the exception of long half life which can be a good thing if you are taking it as a baseline pain med. I never worried about missed doses of methadone like I do with oxy. You never indicated why you were taking them. For pain, recreation? I have never heard of methadone as recreational drug.

^Yeah, that's why I included long-half life under pros and cons, but I've taken them for pain and for opioid cessation/taper.

However, as we both know, the long half life doesn't mean that it kills pain for 24+ hours, nor does it provide relief in patients on MMT who only can dose once a day, but aren't allowed for whatever reason to do split dosing. TL;DR, despite the half-life, you gotta take it 2-3-4 times a day in chronic dosing style for it to work the best. Obviously this all applies to long-term/chronic use, we're getting a bit offtopic as this thread is for abuse I think.

yea i never really considered methadone a recreational drug, the first time i ever tried it i had a pretty large opiate tolerance and took 50mgs and was nodding for about the entire day. i mean nodding where i could barely keep my eyes open, it was the heaviest opiate high i think ive ever experienced. now that im on MMT its different, but that first time i was surprised at how strong and how long it lasted. def not a toy.

Methadone is not a drug you want for recreational purposes. I was prescribed it a few years back when I was in pain management.

My doctor gave me 5 mg oxycodone qid. and methadone 10 mg to take only at bedtime. It is pretty sedating, especially if you take more than recommended. But great for pain because the oxy was short-acting whereas methadone lasts longer.

Sorry mate. Missed the pros and agree with what your saying. To the OP, do not let the demons of methadone persuade you into taking higher doses to achieve a buzz.
