Im 20, I have been on opiate pain killers for about a year now because of severe crohns disease. In December, I had surgery for a resection. They removed 20 cm of badly damaged intestine, and 22 cm of colon. They put me back together and rest time came up. 3 days later I went septic and had to go into emergency surgery where I almost died. I now have an Ileostomy (bag outside of my belly that collects my waste), I am fillet open like a fish, they couldn't close me up in fear of infection, and two drains, one in my side and one in my groin because I am caked in infections and abbcesses.
I was put on 10mg oxycodone when needed, and 25mcg of fetanyl. I don't need pain medication anymore for surgery pain, but I need them because these drains are actually really hurting me, externally and internally.
I take 10mg of oxy for BT, but every time I take off my fet patch to put on a new one, I save them and put them in my mouth, not to get high, but for about 20/30 minutes for BT instead of taking my oxy since I am only prescribed 40 of then every so often so I run out in about 1-2 weeks. Is this a safe option?
Also, I smoke MJ sometimes for BT, but when I get off of these opiates when I feel less pain, what is to be expected? I can be without patches and oxys for a couple of days if I run out on the weekend and not feel withdrawal symptoms, only my pain increases. Are some people tolerant to withdrawal? Idk if the amount of opiates I am on now will give me withdrawals when I am off, I just want some opinions of what I am doing and what to expect.
