Cocaine Overdose?

First of all hi all, I'm new to the forum. Have recently started experimenting a bit with drugs on a generally safe level so thought this would be a good forum to share questions and thoughts.
I tried cocaine for the first time in early April, but took a very very small amount at a time so it didn't do much more than drinking 2 red bulls.
Friday night was my second time, and I went slightly over the top. I was pretty drunk at an afterparty, 7am and had just found out a not so close friend had some coke with him, so I asked him if I could have a bit. He passed me a small baggie. I asked how much there was in there, and he said to take one line. Courtesy of alcohol and loud music I understood this as: There is enough for one line.
Went outside and drove to the next corner, emptied the bag onto a CD and immediately thought: There is a lot here for one line.. He did say he got it pretty cheap so it must be really weak stuff. I took it all in 2 snorts the size of home rolled cigarettes, and drove around to go back into the club.
About 5 minutes later I wasn't feeling too great and the guy FREAKED OUT when I told him I took all of it. I started getting paranoid at this point and my heart was beating at easily 180-200 bpm. Went to the bathroom and I have never seen anyone sweat like that in my life, followed by some pretty violent vomiting.
I drank about 2 litres of water and tried to calm myself down by telling myself it wasn't enough to kill me dispite the look on my friend's face. My entire face was numb, people were slapping me about and I couldn't even feel it! After about 10-15 minutes I started feeling better and started dancing around and being far too friendly with far too many strangers, generally had an awesome time. I was really high for 2 and a half hours and then came down almost instantly at 9:30am while having breakfast in a bar. The comedown wasn't nearly as bad as the one I had from MDMA over Easter though, and before bed I smoked a fat joint so I could sleep. Felt very hung over the next day and was a little shocked when my friend told me there was almost half a gram in that bag.
Did I OD? Was I close? Could/should I have gone to the hospital?
Obviously next time I wouldn't do that much, just want to know what I should do if I ever feel like that again.
Thanks

Sorry for your shitty experience man.

OD'ing is kind of a loose term. Lots of people think it means literal death. I throw the phrase around a lot more loosely. Like when I fall out on heroin or other opiates (But obviously am not dead or fully comatose).

I've overdone with coke before too, but mine was by way of needle, and needless to say because you clearly have experienced it, too much of any stimulant can put you in a really scary place. I get panic attacks too, and I see a lot of similarities between those and too much coke or speed or meth or what have you. I can be a bit of a party animal though so I would probably not make any serious inquiries into an overdose on coke until I was having a seizure and in the back of an ambulance (I know that's not great harm reduction policy but hey).

Just make sure you don't blow way too much next time is the most obvious answer here, then you won't have to deal with that tremendously shitty feeling. But, if you do find yourself in this same predicament in the future, it's always good to have some alprazolam (Xanax) or another benzo on hand. That's no doubt what they would give you in the hospital if you went for an alleged coke or speed overdose. Or if you don't have access to that stuff on the fly, a stiff drink might do the trick as well.

Be more careful next time!

I would be tempted to say that when panic is a major component of your condition, it means you did too much but probably not enough to OD. Panic is the body's way of telling you "this scares me, stop now!".

When you OD either you don't see it coming or you get weak (unconscious).

If the lines were the size of cigarettes, a large proportion of that probably just dripped down your throat and absorbed in your stomach, especially if the high from one dose (no redosing) lasted 2 and a half hours. That, and the fact that the stuff was probably cut to hell with shitty speed and inert filler means you likely weren't close to a fatal overdose, but just panicked due to others' reactions.

In the future, I would suggest not sniffing lines that large of any drug. There's no rush to snorting like there is with IV, so if you're not where you want to be in a few minutes, you can always take more. It's very hard to undo the drugs when you've taken too much.

The reason I rushed it as well was that being an after club (6am-12am) there are bouncers EVERYWHERE controlling people, so I wasn't comfortable doing it in the bathroom and took the car around the corner and did it there..
