So there's been some pills that ive tested an had slight to no Reaction on all the reagents but the mandelin has a red outer ring? So what could cause this . I was thinking the mandelin might react to pipes but I'm not sure. Has anyone had this red ring happen an if so did your other reagents react? On Edate the only pills that had a red ring contained mCPP

For Mandelin, seeing an light to dark *orange* ring around the outer edges of reagent would indicate that your tested pill is cut with Ketamine. This is unusual, and not a common adulterant used or found (often, not saying it doesn't happen ever). Not seeing a specific reaction for "Red" in the test key, but are you sure it was red and not orange? Even a dark-ish orange can appear to be "red".

Color reactions :

MDxx - Blue to black
Speed - Green
Ketamine - Orange to very dark orange
2C-T-x - Orange to salmon
Cocaine - Light orange
MDPV, Methylone - No reaction
PMA/PMMA - Green to brown
Oxycodone - Olive

Wow. Ok, GC/MS is helpful. I doubt the top two contain a 2-C substance, the reaction color is distinctly different and penetrates the reaction a bit more than just a ring around the puddle.

Caffeine? I've never used Mandelin reagent on a caffeine pill, maybe someone can test and report? This makes the most sense considering the E-data test results. This also makes sense because you wouldn't see the strings of red under normal light with a strong blue/purple/black MDxx reaction.

Because of the fact that only a trace amount of red was found in the final results, and the GC/MS confirmation of the contents on the bottom two, I think it could potentially indicate the presence of caffeine.

It is also possible, seeing the specks of red, that whatever dye was distributed in the binder didn't break down completely when the reagent was applied, but that sounds dubious, considering the reagent's strength. Still, bringing it up...

Grrrr!.....more pipes. Now pointlessly pressed with caffeine! (Why???)

The info on mCPP:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta-Chlorophenylpiperazine

So we could have a new reaction color (for mCPP) to add to the Mandelin test chart, if further testing across a larger group is consistent with these unusual test results on E-data and PR. (with GC/MS confirmation, of course).

Or maybe it's reacting to trace amounts of reaction by-products (but why weren't they shown on GC/MS?). I could guess that the GC/MS results were filtered, but we have way of knowing what else was in them that could be causing the test to react like this.

I would guess the reaction to Mbzp is red and the darker one has more

I don't think its MBZP cuz their some that had mCPP An TMFPP by there self an had a red ring. I'm thinking the red ring reaction has something to do with the precursor/byproduct of mCPP or TMFPP, (PP)

Here's a 2 more but they have a pink outer ring !? But I tested the pills with a test kit from Australia http://ecstasypilltest.com
