hey everyone just a few quick ?s ive been growing an outdoor plant now for neally four months (started mid october) and its about 5 and 1/2 foot tall when will it start to bud and how long will the budding period last for before i pick the buds and how i tell when there ready p.s i live in nsw north of sydney i looked abit on the internet but it had only america times to grow??

aslong as the plant gets full uninterupted night without any lights being switched on outside near it ... starts to flower in autumn and ready by winter when the days get shorter ...

If you have a female then it will start flowering getting white hairs around march-april and be ready by may .. giving it blood and bone or rose plant food will get the buds bigger ..

flower times vary between 7 weeks-10weeks depending on the strain ..

If you dont get white hairs but you see balls then you got a male and its useless ...

when 90% of the white hairs on the buds have turned red/brown and you see heaps of resin on buds then you can pick them and dry out slowly in newspaper or similar..

What kingpin 007 said. Also some strains can start to flower earlier than that for example some indica strains Ive grown have shown their preflowers in midsummer and flowered properly throughout late summer and early autumn.

Oh and males tend to preflower slightly earlier than females which is handy because you know which plants to get rid of.

Look at the intersections of the leaves and branches for either tiny white hairs or little round yellowy white ball shaped flowers there could be some there already!!!

Im in Perth which is a couple of degrees of latitude north of Sydney so similar light hours however it could be possible that the extreme dry hot days we can get might induce early flowering through stress.

Kingpin is right though usually it will be April or May before it is finished especially if it is a sativa. The earliest I have ever had was finished at the start of March end of Feb but that was an indica and it showed hair at the start of summer.
