orange = speed?

Hi,
I've been buying ecstacy pills and testing them for about 6 months now. Always buying from the same dealer, and all the pills have been good quality E. (results always turning black/dark purple)
Just recently I purchased another 20 pills. 18 of which were the same, all tested, and all good quality E. My dealer also threw in 2 orange pills (no logo, but they are about double stacked in size, very soft pressed) and he swore to me that they were the best stuff he ever took. 9 hour pills he said. I asked him if they were speed, and he said no, that they were E. Well, I got home and tested them as usual, and there was no change to dark purple or black. The scrapings turned darker in color, but the liquid remained clear/orange. After touching the pill, i noticed that the orange dye was all over my fingers. The dye seemed very concentrated, so I was wondering if the orange dye was what made the testing solution appear to be orange.
If these are speed, then I have no intention of taking them, due to the horrible experiences I have heard regarding speed. I will try and "exchange" them for other pills, and I think he might take them back because he seemed so reluctant to giving me them in the first place (he gave them to me because I've been a good customer for a while now). Does anyone have any comments regarding these? Has anyone tried orange pills that were actually E but the test did not turn black/dark purple? Any comments would be appreciated. Thx.

I don't know what country you're in, but I'll guess its either USA/Canada, or Australia... why??
See I haven't heard of people rolling that long off of one in other places.
An educated guess would tell me there's meth in these. MDMA doesn't last 9 hours, neither does amphetamine. MDA - perhaps, but I would be more inclined to suggest that if someone refers to a 9 hour roll, and especially if they talk about how dancy and energetic they are, you're looking at some very potent speed.
Remember that methamphetamine usually goes light yellow, and speed goes orange (usually)
I've seen "wet" amphetamine, but never wet MDxx so I really really suspect these ones.
but to answer the real question, I am really curious why the dye would come off on your hands... either way, if you can afford it, please send it to a lab (dancesafe if you're in the US) or if not, tell us what country you're in, it would help.
Also its worthy to note that the E2 kit would turn olive coloured from amphetamines (amphetamine or methamphetamine) and also reacts properly to PMA, so it would be worthwile to invest in one of these.

Does this mean that basically there was no reaction ?? Like, the liquid did not seem to react ??

i highly doubt they were colored orange to make them look like speed when being tested.
we had some red LOVE's a while back, they got a bit wet and the red dye also 'floated' off the pills and they were actually white - the test result was orange - speed.
try exchanging them if possible, i doubt they're that special.

If you can, cut the pill in half and do a scrape test from the middle. You will often find that with dodgy pills that the colour has been 'rinsed' through and only the outside part of the pill is affected.
(aha thinking back to tooth paste ads for some reason, and chalk, and blue colouring.. and... ohh well.. never mind. Its an Australian thing)
With the EZ/E1 tester there really doesn't need to be a lot of speed present to get a reaction. If you are getting a very very faint reaction it is usually just the fillers/binders. (We get that all the time here in Aus. Ahhh Aus, the country of dodgy local makers).

I'm from the USA (NYC area), but the pills were definitely bought out of the country, Amsterdam I believe.
It seemed to me that there was no real color change with the pills, but that the liquid turned into the color of the dye (orange). The whole thing seems a little shady, so I think I will try to return them. Pure speed, or meth is just not my idea of a good time. Thanks for everyone's help. peace

As a matter of fact, just this past Saturday night I came across some pills that sound a lot like how you described. They were orange with some green and bluish colors mixed in with them. I was told they were the longest lasting pills the guy has ever taken. Some of the dye was left on the bag like how you described. The thing that got me was they were really mushy. I've never had a mushy, nor come across a mushy pill. This was strange to me. Disregarding this, the pill tasted like a pill should taste. The effects it had on me was more like speed than anything else. It may of had some MDMA in it, but not likely. My advise to you is take them back or exchange them if you can.
