Opioids Oral Hydromorphone?

I know the oral bioavailability of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is pretty low (~30%), but has anyone experimented with the actual effects of taking it orally? If you increase your dose, say double of your usual (maybe a little more), do you still catch a good buzz? Do you get that warm feeling in your stomach like after taking a good oral dose of Oxycodone?

Sure. Just because as drug has a low oral BA doesn't mean you can't get high off of it. It just takes a higher dose compared to the other ROAs.

Yea I know you can still get high off of it, was asking more if anyone has any experience with oral Hydromorphone specifically, and if the effects are comparable to oral Oxycodone?

Like the cat above me said just takes more. I've done it before I believe I ate 24mg and I felt alleviated warm and a definite mood uplift. I'm not 100% but I'm sure if u eat enough you could feel as good as oxys orally can make you feel.

I found it to be one of the most similar opioids to oxycodone, but I still prefer the oxycodone.

BA isn't the end all, be all of drugs. That's why dilaudid comes in 8mg dosages in the US, oxymorphone is available in massive quantities for oral use, etc.

If you take enough of it, sure you'll get a buzz It does feel a bit like oxy, but lasts 1/3-1/2 as long, lame I say!

i can usually take like 1.5 15 mg roxys and like an hour redose 7.5 mgs and nod real good, sometimes off the first dose i can nod if im sitting down or if i been dosing all day. the one day i got dilaudid i was at my sisters house so i couldnt plug it so i sniffed one and didnt feel much 25 mins later so i ate 4 more mgs and 30 mins later i couldnt open my eyes. i woke up drool;ing on myself like 4 times lol it was in my top 10 nods. to nod that hard i would definetly need 30 mgs of oxy so it would be about the same price

i would definetly go for ocy before dilaudid but you cant rule it out for orally if your tolerance is low i think. if i can eat and sniff 8mgs then someone with a good size tolerance would more then likely have to eat a lot of it.

Hydromorphone is popular because of its IV rush. IMO its not worth the money to use hydromorph orally.

That being said, yes you can get high on oral hydromorph.

when i was doing alot of hydromorphone i would sometimes take 10 or so mg (crushed up so it would be IR) along with 20mg ER. this was enough to get me through the work day with just a bump(5-6mg snorted) in the morning and one at lunch. I would still do a lot after work but i work with alot of heavy equipment so i didnt want to go in nodding out and dissapearing every hour to keep from feeling awful

With a low tolerance i took 24mgs orally didnt feel anything but it did a little to help my horrible pain. Back then a five mg vicodin would get me fuzzy.

My first few experiences with HM were oral, but it was mainly to stave away w/D's when my main source was out/not around. It worked, dosage levels around 24mg, but that was with 100mg~oxy tolerance, so with a low tolerance, 24mg should've been more than plenty. And honestly after I tried it IV, I just don't think I could go oral with this particular opi again. But oral did provide a very nice warmth, and lasted a little longer than no legs IV.

i took hydromorphone at a fairly low dose (4 or 8mg) & didn't feel much, whereas at that time 20mg hydrocodone or 10mg oxycodone would have me feeling awesome. so in my opinion, it's not as great orally as oxycodone unless you're going to take a higher dosage.

i'll be up front though & say i've never used another ROA for any of those three specifically, only IV morphine.
