i personally love smoking weed and taking benadryl it always gives me a good out of body expirience when i take between 6-10 25mg tablets i want to hear other peoples opinions and experiences.

I haven't dabbled in it much aside from its intended purpose. I have however given Myristicin (Nutmeg extract that was prepared by an experienced friend who is a chemist) a whirl. Nasty shit deleriants. Made me sortve feel completely stoned like literally almost the EXACT same high as weed. Then the trip started. Huge body load. The trip was quiet bizzare. Its a very strange feeling compared to say LSD, when your on LSD your tripping and even in a bad trip somewhere in your mind "you" are still there and know your tripping and it all isn't real. The strangest thing was I almost felt like the things I was seeing (Bugs, weird sortve Beings like aliens I guess random and mostly quiet scary objects and figures) they were all clear as day and it was like they were real. Like your mind was actually believing the trip and believed everything that was going on. Very strange experience that ended in a sleep with very strange and to the average Joe they would probably be classified as nightmares. Diphenhydramine is supposedly way more hectic than Nutmeg. But don't quote me on that. If you intend on going for it and don't get me wrong some people really enjoy the trip, I would certainly go into it with a clear head and in a good mood. I would also recommend you DO NOT do it if you have no previous experience with Psychedelics and Dissociatives. I would recommend atleast taking all the obvious ones like Acid and Shrooms, and even DXM and if its available, Special K. I could not imagine doing a deleriant as my first "Mind Altering" experience. Not for the faint hearted at all.

I've tripped on DPH, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) a handful of times back in high school. It can definitely induce some crazy dreaming while awake states, but also has a demented side to it at times. I would take it at school sometimes and just zone out on the teacher and he would just vanish. It can induce lucid dreams one after the other. One of my more notable trips on it was with a good friend of mine, in which after a couple hours of conversation and then watching his head spin 360 degrees, i realized my friend had never been there at all...

most of people here i guess won't ever recommend you to go on a deliriant trip, but if you really want to i'd look for some experience reports (there are many here on bluelight too) so you at least know what you're expecting.

i took 14 50mg diphenhydramine pills when i was 16, spent 5 hours completely unable to move, could not keep my eyes open, had conversations with people who weren't there, and my left side twitched the whole time, it really was not fun, not even a little, really, if you're goin for OTC highs, i say dxm is it.

Not worth it all! I'd never had any before so my dad gave me 100-125mg and it was extremely extremely uncomfortable. And you are terribly confused the whole time. I'm not exaggerating when I say you forget things right as soon as you finish thinking it lol

Total shit. RLS. Feelings of ripping off your skin.

IMO RLS almost makes you wanna blow a fucking whole in your head. Esp when you're Trynna fucking sleep. I can't even take more than 25mg of DPH or else I'd feel my right leg getting the urge to move. Just fucking disturbs me even thinking about it. Please don't put yourself through this unless you have benzos.

^^^^^^^ AMEN to that!! I already have RLS, and anytime I take benadryl (even just 1) that shit goes thru the roof! Awful awful feeling. I take ropinirole for my RLS which helps greatly but will never take benadryl again. That's my opinion on it

I have bad RLS too. This is where the dxm/dph combo comes to glory. Tripping on just DPH is hell RLS, but with DXM it's all grovy. They seem to potentiate eachother, research before you dabble.

I've dosed up to 900mg dph and 600mg dxm, fucking love it. Have to keep my self away from doing it often, as it's hell for the body.

P.S. DPH has a longer half life than DXM so save like 50-80mg for after the dxm wears off. I need a bit extra DXM at the end to avoid all RLS.

Off topic, but I used to take lyrica (pregabalin) for my rls. 150mg 2x day. Really worked well, need to get that rx back. RLS is driving me nuts since I quit opiates.

As a bona fide nutcase who has tripped near enough every other day this year (6 times THIS WEEK) on strong doses of various psychedelic drugs (and will give just about anything a try), my professional opinion on deliriant drugs is:

FUCK THAT!!!

I mean never mind the fact that you're basically poisoning yourself (that alone should be enough to put you off), why the hell would you want to put yourself through that kind of psychological abuse? Everything I've read says it's not something you'd want to repeat.
My mother was given atropine in hospital a couple of times. She said she felt horrible and the hallucinations were terrifying and can actually cause you physical pain.

At 300-450mg you start tripping out pretty good. Years ago I would take it to help me sleep and read somewhere you could hallucinate at high doses, so I tried it out a couple times. I had full blown hallucinations, like seeing my buddy sitting in my chair talking to me, or while I was looking at skateboards online, I'd hallucinate someone skating in my room. It was fun to see the hallucinations, but not something I recommend. Diphenhydramine makes you feel disgusting at high doses. It feels gross to eat or drink too. I have never done it since lol and won't take doses higher than 25mg because it feels disgusting to me.

I've used up to 500 mg diphenhydramine recreationally on a few occasions (although I can't really say there's anything particularly recreational about it the drug, even with much lesser doses). Each time I've used it was considerably unpleasant and dysphoric. I haven't taken it at all—not even for its mildly effective and mediocre soporific effects—for months, although I've a prescription for it. Diphenhydramine has proved itself thoroughly worthless and unappealing as both a recreational and medicinal drug, in my experience.

Diphenhydramine is a great drug if you use it as directed....I would never taken more than 75 mg at once. 50 mg usually works great for sleep, while 25 mg is great as an antihistamine.

However, the downside of diphenhydramine is that tolerance to the drug builds very quickly IME....if you take 50 mg every night, by the third night it will already be much less effective. They say after the 4th night its basically placebo.

I always have some diphenhydramine lying around, and find it to be a much better sleep aid than most benzodiazpines. Diphenhydramine actually makes me not want to move my body, while benzos make me want to roll around...funny right?

Indeed, very funny. Especially since no convincing evidence exists to corroborate the claims of diphenhydramine's superiority to placebo as a sleep-aid. Most of the evidence I've found lends itself in favor of the converse: diphenhydramine is not superior to placebo for the treatment of insomnia.

For example:

1. Effects of 2-week treatment with temazepam and diphenhydramine in elderly insomniacs: a randomized, placebo-controlled trial

2. Effect of dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, and placebo on nocturnal cough and sleep quality for coughing children and their parents. (PubMed)

3. Benadryl Equals Placebo in Helping Infants Sleep

4. Over-the-counter sleep aids: The research on their effectiveness is limited, experts say

5. Valerian-hops combination and diphenhydramine for treating insomnia: a randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial

And so on. My own experience has not been different.

I've benadryl-tripped many times but never with weed.
I always see spiders, and talk to people who aren't there.
plus i get amnesia
I won't ever do it again, that's my opinion
