everyday's an endless dream of cigarettes and maga
Is it safe to take some of the tussigon prescribed to my dog? She had some sort of cough and it helped her suppress it and get some sleep. Anyway, I know it's just hydrocodone and homatropine, but the fact that it came from the vet wigs me out a bit. I also am unfamiliar with homatropine. Thoughts?

Dogs get the same tramadol as humans. I have gotten some from a friend who works at a vet. it was a 50 mg that i was able to identify by its imprint as a standar tramadol 50 mg. I see no reason to not take it, as long as the medications it has in it are normal for humans to take.

i one time asked this girl i was seeing for her dogs pills, i think that was a huge turn off for her for me to be so balsy to ask for her dogs opiates when shewas nieve to drugs..iacted a fool!

First, I just want to state this Subjective statement. If you pet still needs them, then don't you be takin those yourself. Let them help get your pets cough under control. However if he doesn't need them than yes they are safe for human consumption. This drug is also prescribed for smokers and children that have a persistent cough. This WILL make you sleepy, so go easy. But this drug is usually dosed for a pet so you may not get the effect you are hoping for.

What about your poor dog that actually needs the medicine? People like you shouldn't own a dog. I'm all about getting high, but not at the expense of others.

Unless you own a 200lb Mastiff, chance are the doses for your dog wont do shit for you. I try not to pass judgement, but taking your dog's meds if it is still suffering from whatever just to get a weak-ass buzz scores an 11 on the douchebag hopeless junky scale. Now, if your dog is okay and this is just some extra meds, then I retract that, but I wouldnt expect anything remarkable from doggie cough suppressant. Now, if it were a bottle of Ketamine... :D

Wow, Bluelighters are way quicker to pass judgment than I thought. This is kind of off-putting. My dog is completely healthy now, and I have a whole bottle full of 5mg hydrocodone sitting in the cupboard. Y'all are making me feel bad; I don't appreciate it.

^I was thinking the same thing.
as a new member - having several people assume the worst
about me would've been off-putting, definitely.
you should stick around though.
it's a message board- things get lost in translation, sometimes..
and there's a lot of great members around to make up for that.

I cannot BELIEVE you're gonna let your dog sit there and cough while you get all hopped up. Do you steal children's Fent pops in your spare time?!? ;)
I love animals as much as the next person but she said her dog was better. Some older dogs have chronic coughs but that doesn't sound like this is the case at all. I agree she's getting slammed for nothing.
The dog's better, med's just gonna sit there? Eat them.
