Hi all,

Firstly, let me start by apologising if this is in the wrong place or I break any rules (though I'll try not to).

Right, bit of background - I'm on opiates for pain relief. I started on Codeine, quickly moved up to Dihydrocodeine with Morphine for breakthrough pain. This was insufficient and life was hard so I suggested after a failed operation to fix the pain-causing issue, that I start Fentanyl. I have 37.5mcg/hr patch (a 25mch/hr and a 12.5mcg/hr). I also have Abstral, sublingual Fentanyl 100mcg tabs for breakthrough pain. It's not working and to cut a long story short, I was in agony and took 800mcg sublingually plus 750mg of codeine orally and got some relief and a light buzz but that's it.

What I need to know before seeing my doctor in about 12hrs time is what is the best for pain relief but what is the best for a high. I'd really like to feel the euphoric high that I get from say...IV morphine...as close to it as possible. Hope you all can help.

Thanks and sorry if I broke rules.

P.s. DO NOT ever be so stupid as me and take that much medication. Fortunately my house is like a little Emergency Department and I was so nervous I was on a monitor for a good two hours. It's not big and clever and I only did it because I KNEW out right I could handle it. Be safe guys and DON'T mess with Fentanyl.
