I've been having issues with a dry cough and sore throat for some time now...cough,cough8).I visit one specialist that prescribes me promethazine and codeine and pretty much hooks it up when needed. I've been swimming in the shit for awhile, with having received multiple pints in total. When I can't see the specialist in a necessary time frame or when I don't feel like driving far and I'm out of the medicine(taken as prescribed, for the expected days supply), I see a very nice urgent care doctor but he on the other hand prescribes me Tussionex. Both of these medicines help very well for my current conditions.

One question I have is it necessarily suspicious that I supplement with urgent care?In my eyes, it seems only appropriate when in reality, urgent care is needed. When I do not feel like driving a distance being sick and can not book an appointment, its a very reliable and helpful resource for when someone is not feeling alright.

Another question, I called the specialist's office today and after having a large amount(very substantial) of the promethazine and codeine in the last year scripted without problem or question, just being handed out basically there has been mentioning of the abuse potential and the doctor seems to want to shy away from it writing less and now not anything. The office offered to call in a medrol dose pack and some other medicine (non narcotic :\). I know the medrol dose pack can come in handy, but with the pain and cough keeping me up at night...I know better then anything that the only substantial relief I can find is through opiate cough syrups because I've tried. I feel now that urgent care would be appropriate, considering I still feel bad and my usual pharmacy has yet to receive any faxed medication but they may later.

I'm worried if I go to urgent care, I get this filled, then my other pharmacy gets a called in script of whatever from the specialist then it may look badly on my part. I just want to feel good and there seems to be inadequate relief as of now so it would seem like a good idea and take control of the situation and get some fast help. My normal pharmacy which may be expecting a call in from the other doctor, doesn't stock the Tussionex generic brand I prefer, they also don't have the name brand I prefer. I usually go to a different pharmacy a little farther out, that has my preferred brand and/or generic because the current pharmacy only stocks a very nasty Parr brand generic that is bitter and hard to get down.

How bad does this all look? Is it really bad at all or am I just paranoid and not wanting to look a bad guy(which I'm not). As far as insurance as well, would it look bad if I got the medrol dose pack and the non-narcotic med that may be called in from one doctor later on and get the narcotic cough medicine in the same time frame, maybe a few days?

If you had that serious of a cough then the specialist should have figured out what was wrong with you, if anything is wrong with you at all.

With that being said, you should know that these types of threads aren't allowed on Bluelight. We aren't here to help you get high.
