I used to be a daily suboxone user but got off of it eventually. For a period of 3 months, I didn't use it at all. For the past 3 months, I've been using it once weekly for euphoria. During these last 3 months, it seems like my testosterone has gone through the roof which I feel is due to a rebound effects from opiate induced testosterone suppression. I have a deeper voice, more muscle, less fat, feel energetic and cocky at times, have a strong libido, and connect with people better. Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? I don't do any drugs besides sub either including alcohol and caffeine.

Everything you described sounds like a result of increased testosterone levels. I used to be on maintenance and noticed a similar effect after getting off methadone.

I was on subs for a whole year and it definitely had effects similar to suppressed testosterone. I didn't really think about sex the whole time I was on it (typical with opiates). Food tasted better so I ate more, which led to weight gain. Sitting down and being lazy was funner than usual so I stopped being active and exercising. This is what life on bupe was and once I stopped, went through w/d, and came out on the other side, I was noticing things similar to what you are experiencing.

All of a sudden I was feeling a full range of emotions instead of the blunted ones induced by sub. I started working out and became more aggressive with life and what I wanted to do. I even started talking to girls in class again which I had stopped doing while on sub. I'm not saying I'm Hercules the pimp now haha but I do feel much better off the stuff, more like myself.

^I'm glad you experienced some of the same things. It seems like once in a while dosing keeps the endorphin suppression of testosterone less powerful. It's working out great for me; I have fun on the weekend and enjoy increased ambition and energy during the week from test rebound. I even noticed improved confidence around girls. Other benefits I've noticed also include enhanced emotions throughout the week. I feel more and even laugh more. It seems to make me more empathetic while not on sub and people really respond better to me when I'm more sensitive to their emotions. I have Aspergers and these study indicates that naltrexone improves behavior and social communication in autism:

I don't know if it's related but this routine working well for me so I'm going to keep it up.

How old are you would probably be the very first pertinent piece of info needed?

^ 24 I feel like I suffered from low testosterone my whole life before this new pattern of dosing. Even when I was a teenager with no drugs at all, I felt I didn't have optimal testosterone levels. My sex drive was non existent, suffer(ed) from gyno, I was constantly fatigued, and couldn't gain muscle no matter how much I ate and exercised. My muscles just looked toned after all that work. I feel like a man now in between my weekly sub dose.

Maybe you're just happy to be off opiates for the most part and that's improving other aspects of your life?

^Not at all. I was off sub for a full 3 months before and the benefits I described only became apparent when I started dosing once on the weekend every week.

Couldn't you attribute the effects to the fact that suboxone has a long half life and now you're getting a recreational high off of it as opposed to being on it every day?

^nah out of all the days of the week I feel the worst the day after dosing sub. That's not to say I feel terrible, just normal. The emotional enhancement is strongest towards the 5 or 6th day off of sub. The period of time when I'm actually high on sub is when I feel the least socially motivated. There's not a doubt in my mind that it's the slight rebound effects working their magic. During the period of time I was completely off sub for 3 months, I had rather low affect as well. Can't say the improved body composition is from the high either.
