Anybody got suggestions for breakbeat songs? I've been listening to DJ ICEY, and he's pretty tight, got any other suggestions i.e., songs, artists?
thanks!

Here's some of my favorite breaks ATM:
Rennie Pilgrem - Atmosphere
Freq Nasty - Fresh
Puretone - Addicted to Bass (Hyper and Rhymes rmx)
Stanton Warriors - Da Virus
Meat Katie - Moist (Koma and Bones rmx)
Good labels:
TCR
Functional Breaks
Botchit
Kalideascope (esp. if you dig Icey's sound)
Good mixes:
DJ Hyper - Bedrock Breaks
Rennie Pilgrem - Tribalism
Freq Nasty - Y4K Next Level Breaks
I'm also kind of new to breaks myself, I'm still learning a lot about em, but this should give you a good head start.

Here's some of my favs:
Blame - Music Takes You (BLIM remix)
Player One - Into the Darkness
PMT - Gyromancer (False Prophet mix)
Chris Carter - What Sounds Are
BLIM and Chris Carter - Check it Out
BT & Tsunami One - The Hip Hop Phenomenon
Koma & Bones - Morpheus
Micro - Fall Into Me (DJ Icey remix)
BT - Fibonacci Sequence
Plump DJs - Scram
Also, check out anything by Hybrid. They've got a ton of great remixes as well as originals.

I was in your spot once, just comming off trance and not knowing what the hell is out there. First I started to listen to lighter breaks...like
mike koglin - enjoy the silence (tekara remix)
still a good song...
listen to hybrid, youll love most of their stuff, check their album wider angle too. one day you will love these...
bt- fibonacci sequence
hi-fi bugs - lydian and the dinosaur
and i must say...i still love
sasha - rabbitweed
download all that and see what you like theres tons out there.

meat katie - cum shot
tipper - donut (original mix, cold fusion mafia mix, salim rafik mix)
those are the records i really liked at the store but i was too poor to afford :( but they are worth checking out reguardless :) i have also been re-discovering my two lone swordsman breezeblock cd that i had re-burned for me. :)

This thread gives me deja vu to last week where a thread gave me deja vu to the week before where a thread gave me deja vu to the week before that, i'll stop now.
Does anyone actually use the seach button?
Its not like there is a million different ways to spell the word breaks.....

yeah but people listen to new things all the time and some people take the time to share what they are into during that particular time.(ie: right now) there are only so many music topics to talk about, and so there are bound to be duplicate posts on a daily basis. i understand that it can get annoyin, and if it does bother you that much then just dont read it.

I can see your point too, but the poster wasnt asking for up to date stuff or anything, I agree making a post is a good idea but if the user had checked the search engine they would have found....
this and this
and
this.

thanks guys!
sorry masheadatronic, im too lazy to use the search button. plus it feels like im getting mail when you people reply..heehee

On top of all of these suggestions, check out Y3K (mixed by Hyper) and Y4K (FreqNasty) compilations, the new Sasha album - Airdrawndagger(not out yet, but on the net), Hybrid and Phil K - that guy is crazy!
Also, listen to Nubreed (not the GU series), Infiusion and Rennie Pilgrem.

Yeah your right, it does feel nice to start a thread and check back for replies, I shouldnt have said use the seach function although using both the search and starting a thread would mean you get even more reccommendations!
