Hey, folks. So, long story but I can no longer receive my prescription for 100mg daily Wellbutrin. I have about a week's worth left and quite frankly, I'd just like to quit the medication, anyway. Moved across the country and no longer have insurance or a doctor.

Anyway, I am also taking 2-4g of piracetam a day and was thinking I would use some supplements from GNC to cushion my fall off. Maybe some L-Tyrosine, Vitamin B6 and L-Glutamate, maybe GABA.

Any input?

It's probably one of the easiest antidepressants to discontinue...

I've stopped it twice. I generally felt dysphoric and fatigued for at least two days. During the first 24-48 hours I noticed a weird disconnect between perceived motivation and action - I didn't feel like doing things but I did them anyway. I was still able to get out of bed every day. After the first two days, I couldn't tell what was withdrawal and what was depression. I was able to get through a lot with stimulants both times (primarily caffeine and to a lesser extent tobacco).

If it's instant release you may be able to split the pills and gradually step down.

You have 700mg. 75mg for 4 days is 300mg, which leaves you with 400mg. 50mg for 6 days leaves you with 100mg. 25mg for 4 days brings you to waiting for the drug to clear ur system with minimal withdrawal symptoms.
That's how I'd do it, but I'm no doctor. Of course, if you feel okay stepping down from 50 sooner staying on 25 for longer will make the jump off that much easier.

I don't have any experience with Bupropion but from my experience with SNRI/SSRIs some people are very sensitive to w/d whereas I've skipped days at massive doses and cold-turkied off big doses with little discomfort.
Good luck, if it's too much to handle just go back up and stay on it for longer before lowering.

Very much appreciated, guys! Puts me into a more positive mood about this. I will definitely start cutting my current doses starting tomorrow.
