Odd effects (i think) from Oxycodone... Concern needed?

So a few precursors about me: 1. I take 20 mgs of Prozac for anxiety and depression. I know that I'm taking a stupid risk mixing opiates and SSRIs.

2. I recently discovered drugs. Grew up super Christian and sheltered and decided about a month ago that I need to live life and try new things other than the stuff that I've been spooned my whole life (I'm 22).

Anyway, for whatever reason I decided my first high should be Oxycodone (another stupid thing)... I have had great euphoria and relaxation from Oxycodone so far. I've gone from 30 mg (first dose) and did 50 mg tonight.

My problem: odd things happen when I try to sleep. As I enter sleep I hear rather loud and random sounds that immediately pull me back to being awake. Each time it's a different noise but when I wake my heart races and I'm quite startled...

It's been 7 and a half hours since I took the pills and I'm still having this problem even though I can hardly keep my eyes open because I'm so tired...

Any reassurance would be great. Also, please share the crap out of me and discourage the pills because I really don't want to become addictive. I started them 3 weeks ago (taken them 4 times now) and I've also tried weed which is GLORIOUS to me but idk how to roll a joint lol.

If you've made it this far then sincerely I say thank you for reading and helping if u can.

1. I have never heard of any risks between mixing opioids and SSRIs?
2. It sounds like youre just entering a lucid dreaming state where your body is half asleep and half awake, so things that happen in your dream may seem really realistic, then you wake up and dont really know whether it happened in your dream or not. Ive had this before, but it should go away once you get some good sleep. If i were you, i would definitely put a few days in between doses so that you dont start down that road of addiction that many come to.

Also, just stick with weed. Ive been addicted to opioids/opiates before and i truly have never experienced anything more mentally destructive and physically uncomfortable in my life.

Second the no interactions between SSRIs and opiates. Frequently if I've had a long day and lay down prematurely to sleep I will hear loud sounds when I'm drifting off that wake me up. For me it's like start dreaming before I'm officially asleep. However, if you frequently wake up with you heart racing, have night sweats, and are not actively taking other drugs you may want to see a doctor as that could be the sign of a larger health problem.

Regarding opiates, no - just no. You're aware of their addictive potential and on an SSRI - so you obviously don't feel your best to begin with. Spare yourself a life of misery, try to resolve your pain and not sweep it under the rug by self medicating. I promise you, an addiction creates new pain and amplifies existing pain 100 fold. Stop while you have the freedom to do so now. Most addicts end up in jails, institutions, or dead. Only about 10% of us make it through addiction to lead a sober life, and many of that 10% are not very happy - go talk to some old timers at 12 step meetings. Good luck!

When I started doing oxycodone I found out I could sleep, but still be pretty much awake. I could for example see myself sleeping and trying to lift my hand amd it lifted although in reality it didn't. Sometimes I was even wondering in my apartment and then woke up when I saw some weird stuff like going into toilet through fridge. Sometimes I than started wondering again in my apartment and went outside from the door and instead of normal surroundings I found myself back in my office and then woke up again and was in my bed and started walking until I woke up. In my dream which was in my dream etc.

Inception came to my mind when I really woke up.

First time was a anxious event but I even anticipated these when I got used to them.

Nowadays I just get same kind weirdness as you described when I sleep while taking my nightly (legit) dose.
