OD on Acid?

Can you Od on acid? My friend said it can make your heart stop. And if you drink milk does it stop you from tripping?
 
No. (well unless you take hundreds upon hundreds of hits)

It would be incredibly difficult to OD on acid. The only report of death from LSD overdose I have seen was someone who I.V'd 320,000 ug. And drinking milk won't stop you from tripping.
 
An OD cannot be obtained in the regular sense but a psychotic break can occur and this is sometimes referred to as an OD. I've seen a person "OD" on just 2 hits of blotter but he was manic depressive and on lithium. His eyes rolled into his head and he began puking up stomach fluid. Basically he had some sort of seizure and he had to goto the hospital. He didn't come back the same person as often happens in such situations...peace

LD50 (That's lethal dose in 50% of those who injest this much) determinations vary widely with species, begin 46 mg/kg in mice, 16.5 mg/kg in rats, 0.3 mg/kg in rabbits and 0.1 mg/kg in elephants. In monkeys, the LD100 is 5 mg/kg. Death in these animals is the result of respiratory failure, preceded in the rabbit by marked hyperthermia. oh and the milk thing is a myth...supposedly it helps get u outta a bad trip...it's purely the placebo effect...

benzos are the best thing I know of to "abort" an acid trip. It won't kill the effects but can generally reduce anxiety to a more manageable level.

So the short answer is: NO you cannot die from overdosing on LSD, even if you have thousands of powerful blotter SHEETS and you're stuffing them in your mouth one after another, all at once. But I'd be more afraid of what my mind would be like after THAT experience, rather than my heart, lol!
And the milk thing, well...it's a cool, soothing drink...maybe it'll help you calm down from bad-trip-anxiety. But that's all it will do.

heres whats funny though, those LD50 numbers and the ones that are quoted in deaths and shit, like 12000ug and 320,000ug are only 12mg and 320mg respectively, now thats probably more acid than youll see in a lifetime, but its not farfetched to think that its around, shit thats a 3rd of a gram, quite low compared by weight.

actually thorazine would be more effective at terminating a trip than benzos...however that's like tying a reality noose around their neck and kicking out the psychedelic chair from under their feet...
 
Well it is actually 12 mg's so you're out by a factor of 10 on that one. Seriously though acid is powerful stuff. These sort of conversations might make people downplay the power of acids effects. In my opinion it is the most mind bending of all experiences I have had and all this was from one or at most two trips.

Just last week i actually ingested an entire vial and im just fine I think the same act the same nothings different. But by no means am I saying its ok to do that ive seen people bad trip off of 2 hits. Acid is very case sensitive It really just depends on how comfortable you are with your sourounding. It really is a wonderful drug if used properly in no way shape or form would i ever ingest a vial of acid if I really didnt no I could handle it.

I have been trained that no, but in my BHS Class Drug & Alcohol one kid was talking about how a dealer was being chased and had a hole sheet in his pocket and jumped into a river or something and it went threw his skin and killed him,or something like that.
 
if i was tripping my face off (never have) and wanted to abort it, I would think opium/opiates would be the perfect thing to feel better. Combined with the super-high placebo with opiates, and their efficacy, i don't think anything would be better than a nice dose of the blessed poppy, or any of its derivatives

Although opiates would be -nice- when tripping, I doubt they would abort a trip. Benzos are always nice to calm anybody down. My ex-girlfriend actually took four 1mg Klonopins and then took a few hits of acid, and fell asleep. She woke up tripping out of her mind, heh.
