Ocycodone First Time - Help!

Okay, so up until now I've been mostly a pothead, but I'm going to try oxycodone for the first time now. However, I'm confused about the mg - on the prescription bottle it says 5-325 mg. What does that mean? I've heard 5 mg is good for a first time. Also, I hate taking pills and I don't have much so I was thinking of snorting it, but I've never snorted anything before. How would I go about doing that? Is there anything I need to know? Also, is oxycodone as addictive as oxycontin? Oh, and I smoked pot a few hours ago, would that make any difference? And is it safe or recommended to use it with alcohol? And is it better to swallow it or snort it, since I heard its not wise to snort oxycodone, only oxycontin.

Okay, can someone at least explain to me mgs? I don't know if 5-325 mg is a lot or a little or if its too much for a first time or something.
 
Those pills have 5 mg's of oxycodone in each pill. I would take 15mg's personally for a first time. I think 5mg's will do next to nothing for you in a recreational way. 10mg's may give you something, likely little, and it may not and then your first time is kind of ruined. Id go with 15mg's at once, some people even claim 20mg's as the best first time dose.

Oxycontin is just the timed released version of oxycodone, they are the same opioid.

I did 80mg my first time, literally puked for 3 days and didn't enjoy it at all. i wouldnt do more than 20mg if i were you, and take it, dont snort it
 
These sound like percocet, since they are an oxy + apap (probably acetaminophen [aka Tylenol]) mix. The 5mg is the amount of oxy, the higher number is the amount of APAP. You do NOT want to snort these, since it's very unlikely that the 5mg of oxy in there will even stick to your nasal membranes since there is so much powder. You are better off taking them orally, and should only take these orally. Oxy is fine to snort, only if it doesn't have another active ingredient like tylenol in it. 5mg is a low dose even for a first time, I would start with 10mg, which is two of those pills.

I do not suggest drinking alcohol with it. Oxy, and pretty much all opiates, tend to cause nausea. Mixing them with alcohol is just going to increase that effect. Also, there's a chance of respitory depression if you take too much of either, so I would just avoid the booze. Pot won't cause any bad interactions, that would be fine to mix.

Oxycodone is the active ingredient in oxycontin. The "contin" on the end means continuous release, meaning you don't get all the oxy at once, it's release over the course of several hours.

I hope this post helped...I see several replies above but none of them really explain anything to someone who clearly doesn't know much about this, but is smart enough to come to BL and ask us for advice.
 
If they are indeed Percocets (which it sounds like they are) then do not snort it! Not only does it hurt but the bio-availability goes down. Swallow it and wait about 30 minutes. For me one 5-325 was enough the first time, I was definitely feeling it. I'd say if you aren't feeling it in 30 minutes take another. Don't start with too high of a dosage. Better to start small considering the tolerance factor with opiates.

As purple cloud said, do not mix with alcohol and stated very good reasons why. Besides, IMO it ruins the high.

oxycodeine is actually what it sounds like. 5mg oxycodeine and 325mg acetimorphan (tylenol). for your first time id go 4-6 pills. anymore than 12 pills and the tylenol doesnt make ur tummy feel too great. despite purple cloud i'd say you can snort a couple, but dont smoke any. maybe if youre feelin ambitious do a cwe

DO NOT listen to this advise.

ingest max. 2 your first time and you should be fine.;)
 
^ any more than that, with zero opiate experience, and the nausea tends to be too much. Especially if the OP is what I'm thinking they are, a younger female. Starting with one pill and waiting a bit for the other works also, I guess I was more towards not exceeding 2. And, do NOT snort a couple, especially if you haven't snorted anything before. The powder is just going to burn, and unless you are lucky enough for a microscopic portion of that pill that has oxy in it to cling to your nasal membranes, you'd be getting high from it dripping into your stomach anyway.

madswagga, just because that's what works for you, remember that we're here for harm reduction...especially if someone is telling us they are inexperienced and need our advice, recommending doses and ROAs like that isn't reducing any harm.
 
I would say don't do it at all....but thats coming from a guys whos sitting on his laptop in a detox facility getting off a 500mg/day habit. And my habit started with just that one tiny little 5mg pill. If you must do it, being you have zero tolerance, just one 5mg pill should go the distance. but do yourself a favor, don't make a habit out of it, it will ruin your life like it has mine and many other people on here.
 
i honestly did a ROXY 30MG no prob first time but im a big guy..... i would say start at 15-20MG range.....

Also dont snort yours..... they have 325mg of APAP..... just eat them
 
im sorry everyone is just so picky and have weak stomachs. i guess i just dont know how to have a good time
 
Yea, for a first timer I wouldnt take anything under 15mg's, 10 mg's may get you somewhere, but then again, it may not.
 
First time, if these are percocet, go with 10mg. That is more than enough for a person with no opiate experience. If he isn't where he wants to be in a hour and a half, he can take another half a pill. 20mg of oxy is a strong dose for someone with no tolerance. We don't know this persons weight/height, so that also plays a factor. He could be 5'7 130lbs or some shit. 20mg of oxy would knock a person like that on their ass.
 
I was you a long time ago, was content with just weed, but one night I found a full bottle of vicodin in the cabinet of a family member. I took 2 of them by themselves without weed and went and saw a movie (ocean's eleven), that was it. Pot quickly took the number two position on my list of favorite drugs. After that bottle ran out and I couldn't find anymore I felt so depressed, like i had my first real love affair with a woman and then she died. Obviously not everyone has the predisposition to love opiates like I do, but ever since then I've been an opiate fiend.

So, my advice is don't take them, but you will, so start out with two, you might not even notice it that much, even my first time as profound as it was had a subtlety to it.

or you can have enough self control and be alright. you have to be pretty stupid to let yourself go down the wrong path. "it only takes once" sounds like a fuckin meth commercial
