as I was looking at the article I found this interesting piece at the very end of a different page.

"A 1998 Johns Hopkins University study found that ecstasy causes permanent brain damage. MDMA causes lasting damage to nerves that produce serotonin, an important chemical messenger in the human brain associated with mood and personality traits, the research found."
Brain Damage????? it says it causes damage to nerves that produce seratonin, not the brain. how much damage exactly. it's a sad fact that they could get away with stating such a falsehood. the title of the article says "MDMA CAUSES BRAIN DAMAGE" most parents/people won't go past the title and make up their mind about E. even if they do read on the facts are so jumbled and misstated that it doesn't matter
If only all people were as educated and enlightened as most of us crack heads. maybe using drugs has made us smarter..

You never know who the hell you can trust. They need to be going after those heroin addicts and crack moms on the street corners, and leave us alone. Hell we don't hurt anyone, you don't steal to buy beans, or kill someone for a cap of G. Geez, this is ridiculous.
 
You know I read somewhere that prozac use also causes brain damage, but since most of white middle class America uses it to get through the monotony of their meaningless lives and failed relationships thast it's OKed by the gov.
And the entire time that Nancy Regan was telling kids to "Just say NO" she was popping diet pills and valiums like Rosie Odonnell eating M&m's

Where exactly do you think that 5HT is localized? It is localized to a few nuclei in the brainstem. These are the Raphe Nuclei which lie directly along the middle of the brainstem from the midbrain to the medulla oblongata. Damage to this area does in fact relate directly to damage of the brain. This is the lowest region of your brain, the area at the base of your skull. These studies are also for approx 200 pills over a fairly short time span I believe. Not saying that isn't something to take into consideration. I would very much like to read this study. Not from the paper but the actual article. Is there anyway that you could let me know the name of the leading researcher for this study? I would very much appreciate it.
 
The research head is George Ricaurte I copied the research directly from the Johns Hopkins web site to an earlier thread. Use the search function and you should be able to find it.
