My friend has been taken 2mg Clonazepam for the last 4-5 months. At first it seemed to help with panic attacks/disorders and allowed him to calm down from stress and anxiety. Lately, it really has not been doing anything for him. What would one say would need to be said to the Dr.? Just that the script isn't really helping and if he recommended something else? What would be the chances to try the 2mg Xanax bars to help satisfy panic attacks much quicker and faster? Or do does one think that 2mg of Clonazepam is still the better choice over the 2mg of Xanax?

Just trying to get some info since I know very little about this all. Thank you.

Hi ficksme,

You don't really need to use 'your friend' if it's really about you (if it truly is your friend then I apologise).

If you're really not getting the same effects from your medications then you should definitely tell your doctor. It can take a couple of months on the same medications before you find out if they are going to work for you long term. You may have to do this many times before you find something that works for you as well, but don't be discouraged, once you find the right medication it will all be worth it. There really is no one drug that is better than any other as they will all affect each individual differently.

Don't go in asking for specific medications from your doctor. This will usually get you labelled as a drug seeker and seriously inhibits what they will prescribe in the future which may hinder your progress.

Good luck with getting this sorted out and welcome to Bluelight. You definitely are in the right place :)

Well, if 2mg of Clonazepam isn't doing the trick anymore, then what else would besides Xanax out of curiosity?

Any of the other benzo's prescribed for anxieties

Five types of Benzodiazepines

2-keto compounds:
chlordiazepoxide, clorazepate, diazepam, flurazepam, halazepam, prazepam, and others.

3-hydroxy compounds:
lorazepam, lormetazepam, oxazepam, temazepam

7-nitro compounds:
clonazepam, flunitrazepam, nimetazepam, nitrazepam

Triazolo compounds:

They may even take you off benzos altogether and give you something else to manage anxiety
