I've been taking Norco 10/325 for quite some time and have noticed a MAJOR difference in the basic quality and effectiveness between manufacturers. I'm not talking about on the molecular level, obviously they all are supposed to have 10mg of Hydrocodone and 325mg of acetaminophen, I'm talking about the amount of pain relief provided, how long they last, the euphoria, and the unwanted side effects. To me the Mallinckrodt 367 are the most effective all around. Interpharm/Amneal (same company/have merged) IP110 version comes in second for me. Watson seems to be the worst with noticeably much less effective pain relief and with me seems to act more like a sedative, knocking me out which sucks when you want to be functional/productive. Qualitest is okay but seems to be similar to the Watsons only with less sedation. There are other companies too. Personally if the pharmacy doesn't carry Mallinckrodt or Interpharm/Amneal then I won't fill my prescription there. What do you think? What have you tried and how has it worked for you/compared to other brands? This subject has probably been discussed here many times before but I figure since the recent apparent formula changes in the once preferred brands which now seem to be crap it'd be good to share with each other our recent experiences. Thanks people and look forward to your replies.

i find activis to be the best generic brand for all my opiate and benzo needs. however if you have some awesome insurance get name brand.

They really are all the same. In fact, the brand Norco is made by Actavis, the brand you dislike!!!. That being said, take what makes you happy but realize with the DEA really tightening the rules on prescription drugs, many pharmacies are not able to order specific brands and while it is completely unfair profiling, many pharmacists will consider asking for a specific brand of a narc, suspicous behavior.

I hear ya. I know they are all supposed to be the same but coming from what I've personally experienced there does seem to be a difference at least in how they effect ME, I know everyone is different. For example earlier today I took a dose of the Tris Pharma Norco generic and it didn't have the same effectiveness I usually get from my usual brand. Took the usual brand tonight and the difference in effectiveness was considerable. Could be the fillers that are used or maybe even the soft/hardness of the pill, in other words one may dissolve faster than the other possibly causing faster onset. I just stick with the brand that works best for me when I can help it. I hear ya on some pharmacies considering asking for a specific brand suspicious. I've run into that before. I don't know if this is because people selling them illegally always seek a certain brand or street users prefer a specific brand or what. Thankfully my pharmacy usually carries my brand and doesn't mind ordering them if they don't have them. The quality of customer service you get at a small pharmacy compared to a CVS or Walgreens can be considerable. I guess my main reason for starting this thread was to share my experience and see what others have experienced.

do they really consider that suspicious behavior i have asked Walgreens to carry name brand or activis or teva kpins. they didn't they had the shitty mylan ones and the pharmacist didn't seem suspicious of me at all. maybe he was a good actor.
