Ok, so I've read the threads and all sorts on this stuff, and taken in everything I have seen, but I`m just asking here to hear everybodys opinions. Its like, when I touch drugs, which isnt often, I only do it for the visuals. I've not took any psychedelics before but I have hallucinated off Mephedrone, while being sleep deprived.

Basically, reading some of the reports, it sounds like LSD is pretty amazing. I have read some bad trips but, you take the good with the bad, right? I`m in a positive state of mind, happy, no problems, and my settings for my first time would be with a friend, whos first time it'd also be, in his own apartment.

My question is this; Do you lose touch with reality? As in, when I've hallucinated before, it's been really fucked up, but I enjoy it so much. Like... I can stand at my window for hours enjoying the visuals immensely. The reason I`m asking is because, I don't want to get completely out of it, and do anybody harm, or myself, or anything... which I'm almost certain wouldn't happen anyway. I`m usually a happy guy on drugs... infact, I always am.

Also, are the color changing effects, and morphing etc really as crazy as people make out? I just can't imagine it, and I`m loathing to see what it's like, I really am.

Apologies if it's in the wrong place, and thanks a lot in advance for the replies and information I will receive from you experienced people, much appreciated.

Basically it all depends on what kind of acid you get, ranging from absolutely fake to "I should've just taken half a hit." You won't see pink Christina Aguelara monkies jumping around (at least I hope not), but the morphing and tracers can be astounding. Sometimes the longer you stare at something, the more it morphs, and you can see some pretty crazy shit that way. If you get decent stuff and aren't a dumbass - which you don't seem like - you won't be leaving the apartment and doing anything stupid. You'll be too entranced in your own world and probably too paranoid to leave, which can be a good thing. But the really great thing about acid is the mindfuck. It really makes you think about the entire world differently for quite some time even after you sober up.

Hi, for me LSD is pretty friendly i mean it's hard to have a bad experience with it IMO but that's all relative to set and setting. If your comfortable with the people your tripping with you shouldn't have any problems.
As far as the visuals go there's nothing really to compare it with it's in a class of it's own especially since the visuals go along with a deeper meaning and understanding... kind of difficult to put into words. :\
Definitly worth trying if you want to experience a true psychedelic though.

Thanks a lot for the info buddy, appreciated.

I do indeed want to try a psychedelic, as afortmentioned, visuals are the only reason I touch Mephedrone, and the only reason I touch when I am deprived of sleep. They're just not seriously intense, and I want them to be more messed up and fascinating.

I haven't hit acid that often, but so far the visuals have never been very interesting. Not because everything in my field of view (and beyond) wasn't moving, morphing and changing in spectacular ways like the case was, but because I'm way too confused with myself to concentrate on any of my senses. :) The visuals sort of integrate to be part of all your other senses and your own thoughts, so it's hard to say - or for me, to care much - about them.

I'm pretty trustful you wont lose touch from reality to such a degree that you'd do anything stupid. Going outside though is fun and great, I suggest that if you don't live in too densily populated area.

LSD is one of the best psyches visually speaking. I think that's why it's know as the 'quintessential' psyche to do. Literally you can look at any texture and it's almost as if you see every cell on the surface glistening back at you in a rainbow of color, very intense. Smoke from a cigarette whirls about in a very cartoonish looking way.

As long as you come in with an open, calm, accepting attitude, it's almost impossible to have a bad time. You won't be so out of it that you become some sort of monster or something, but you certainly won't be functioning "normally" (imo you function at such a higher level than normal that it's amazing). Since you seem interested, go for it I doubt you'll have a bad time.

You can have a great attitude going in, then discovering things about yourself or your life that you need to deal with. Avoidance of dealing with this or processing it can lead to a bad experience or partially one, it seems misleading to talk so naievely about negative experiences, although the concept 'bad trip' often changes after having had multiple such trips and going through them. Dealing with what comes across your path becomes more natural apparently.

Thanks a lot for the advice and info guys, truly appreciated.

Aye not can say for definite until it happens but, i`ll just go along with everything that happens. As I said, I don't know if I will but that`ll be the mindset I`ll have just before I trip.

Question: I know everyone says its better to trip with someone else but, does tripping alone have a bigger chance for it to be 'bad'?

Depends. I started my first acid trip alone and it didn't change at all when my roommate came home. I sort of like to have a lot of my own time, so even if I'm tripping with friends, I usually disappear somewhere for at least half of the trip.

Due to safety cautions I'd suggest a trustable friend or few anyway, at least for the first times. :)

If negative emotions come up, I usually wish to be alone anyway. e.g. in another room or so.

In case of a panic attack or similar a friend with experience is sort of a must, otherwise you'll likely overreact and try to get to hospital or something which most of the time is completely unnecessary and irresponsible to do. Well, that's my experience only, and other's might disagree. :) (and I've never actually had a panic attack while trippin', only from certain other substances and scenarios)

Thanks a lot Pyramedic.

Aye I`m gonna trip with friends the first few times, so I get a feel for it, sort of know what to expect. I kind of hope I have a bad trip in the first few, while with somebody, so I know what it's like, and can learn how to react to it.

Thanks to y'all, think next weekend will be the right time :)

The idea of a "bad trip" definitely changes as you do it more. The first time I tripped half was amazing and the other half was difficult (thoughts racing, severe introspection like never before, started questioning my own sanity) but all of these things were necessary in my development as a human being and looking back it was not a "bad" time at all it was an extremely beneficial time. So don't worry about a "bad" trip just remember that it will be a bit overwhelming and if you can learn to let go and embrace the trip no matter what you will be fine.

i to have been interested in acid, but for different reasons...i have read in other threads that acid is an excellent party drug...but from what you are describing it doesnt seem to me to have any use in a rave scene (candyflipping at a massive even for example)...

if you or someone would care to elaborate on how (and if) acid can be used in more of a party scene it would be greatly appreciated....

thanks.

I've often seen it used in party scene. However, these users are generally very experienced, older trippers, who can handle pretty much everything and trust each other 100%. In my opinion (which in no way is the truth) LSD is a lot more of a mindfuck and confusion than many other psychedelics, including shrooms, 2C-E, other RCs and so needs more experience to be used in the party scene.

LSD like most psychedelics can make a beautiful experience thousands of times more beautiful and meaningful, so it makes a lot sense really.

I mean no offense, but if one has to ask how it may be used in raves he definitely should not.

Consider all the amphetamine and alcohol users in raves, the worst case scenario is when they get violent. This partially happened last time and I was SO shaken even though I was only on 2C-E, a psychedelic I find to be most controllable of all I've tried. Had I been on acid, I'd been such a train wreck..

Naturally it of course depends a lot on the person. :) But through experience you learn your own limits and can make these choices fully on your own.

gotcha....thanks for the info...so you would not recommend first time psych experience a candyflip at a rave then?

On one of my stronger trips with some very pure liquid acid brewed by a biochemist in a single yearly batch, my arm brushed against a rabbit's foot & I spent the next hour lost in an otherworldly realm of spiky fractal mountains. On another trip from that batch I looked down at my body and discovered that I had become a network connecting a bunch of computers together. Other times it's just trailers & a slight kaleidoscope effect.

It sounds like you've got the right attitude. Go forth & have fun with it.

I don't think a rave would be the best setting for a first trip. You may find all the people confusing & you stand a fair chance of becoming a burden to someone who undertakes the chore of handling you, possibly a stranger. See the recent thread of the tripper who mistook some poor stranger for a Coke machine & put his hand into the guy's pants pocket looking for his drink. Nobody wants to be known as THAT guy.
