Howdy all! The Psychedelic Drug section of Bluelight is THE place for advanced discussion of psychedelic drugs; experiences, research, discoveries, warnings, praise, theories- ETC. We welcome all new and different perspectives as one and appreciate anyone who can mix it up a bit. The forum is moderated quite strictly to prevent anyone from getting themselves in hot water via source discussion, or to prevent anyone from taking dangerous combinations- so expect a bit of razzing if you propose something foolish- but also, expect a great community of caring, loving souls and friends who span the planet, sharing information on this most delicate and other-worldy of issues; The Psychedelic Experience.
Included in the forum is the Best of PD where we have a topics list in relation to substance; from there, you will find a link to almost every research chemical andmainstream psychedelic drug in use today.
Some threads of particular note are-
The Big and Dandy Psilocybin Mushrooms Thread - this thread is our private grow kit for discussion on psilocybin containing mushrooms ie. magic mushrooms . Please come in and chat about anything related to mushroom trips, revelations, health concerns, positives/negatives. Whilst there isn't a great deal of mycological information here on Bluelight, there is some great discussion on the various psychedelic mushrooms species of the world (for Amanita Muscaria/Pantherina, there is a also a Big and Dandy Thread. We also have a BASIC Psilocybin Mushrooms thread for very basic and simple questions that don't warrant a lot of time or space.....
The Big and Dandy LSD/Acid Thread- the one and only (well one of the one and only!!) places to discuss everything related to that grandaddy of hallucinogens, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide- or LSD. LSD was discovered in 1938 by Dr Albert Hoffman (God bless )- who subsequently went on to ingest a 'small' amount of LSD- leading to the fateful bicycle trip. The rest is history, and we're part of it!
The Big and Dandy Mescaline/Cactii Thread- "To soar in hell or float angelic, just take a pich of psychedelic....." So Humphrey Osmond said in a reply to a letter from Aldous Huxley, the great author of Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell- possibly the most famous account of intoxication from mescaline. Mescaline, whilst known most famously as the principle alkaloid of the slow growing Lopophora Williamsii (Peyote) cactus, is found extensively throughout the Cactacae kingdom. For discussion of various cactii, mescaline experiences, preparation methods etc. this is the thread for that....
The Big and Dandy DMT Thread- discussion focusing on Dimethyltryptamine; plant sources, extraction, experiences, musings, elf-speak. DMT has a unique place amongst the 'common' psychedelic, in that it is endogenous; it is produced by our bodies, inside our bodies...but why? In this thread we will discuss the general effects of DMT, correct ingestion methods, ayahuasca preparation and dietary warnings, entity experience- the lot in other words.
For newcomers, it would be a good idea to have a 'hello' in the PD Offtopic/Social thread where we talk bollocks pretty much.
Other great threads of note are the Big and Dandy Psychedelic Art/Poetry Thread where we encourage our posters to put any artwork, be it visual, musical or otherwise that has been inspired by the psychedelic experience and the Big and Dandy Psychedelics and Psychotropic Medication Thread- this is by no means definitive, but it is a good place to start and to post your relevant questions.
