So I've seen a lot of shit around on NMDA antagonists for medical use at sub-recreational doses mainly for depression (www.psychiatrictimes.com/major-depr...laims-and-findings-ketamine-severe-depression) and addiction. There is also mention of them as neuroprotectants/nootropics (www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/1rwpck/dextromethorphan_as_a_cognitive_enhancer_and_mood/) as well as anxiolytics.
Cat's Claw is like a unicorn, an herb with a (rarely mentioned) NMDA antagonizing constituent. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhynchophylline)
Aaanyway the information out there about all this is pretty disorganized so I'm hoping to pull a lot of extraneous shit together here. Everyone in the general populous trying to use dissociatives for any of these purposes seems to be stuck on DXM poly which is pretty dirty... activity at PCP and sigma receptors and serotonin reuptake inhibition? Bleh no thank you. I even saw one thread with someone suggesting 3-meo-pcp as the ideal medical dissociative. Rhynchophylline (active in Cat's Claw) has a half-life of ~12 hours and at around 10 grams of material produces effects similar to a first plateau DXM high. It's available at any supplement store and the recommended dose of extracts is around the right amount to be equivalent to the dose of DXM people have been takinig for these uses. The past 2 days I've taken 3x the recommended dose and it feels comparable to 120mg of DXM poly.
In taking it the past 2 days I've noticed great reduction in anxiety and depression as well as enhanced cognition very much like a DXM afterglow. I don't doubt that it would also have the same effect as DXM on addiction. Anyone considering using dissociatives for any of these purposes, or really any purpose besides recreational, should seriously consider this herb in place of DXM or K or god forbid PCP (lol).
Q: Has anyone experienced WD from dissociatives for these uses or will they just put off symptoms and make them worse later (like benzos)?
