What do ya'll think of nintendo's newest system? I think it'll rock the pants off sony and microsoft.

Point and shoot (WAY better than the crapola double joy stick configuration)
swing a bat/racket/club
sword fight
box

btw, if the only reason you play video games is to watch people's heads explode, we all know that nintendo makes a lot of "kiddy" games.

sweet!!!!

I'll have one on the release day. Nothing is more fun than playing warioware, mariokart, super smash bros, etc with 3 friends.

I'm prepared for poor control implementation on some of the launch titles, but I think this is going to be the system that gives me the most pleasure (regardless of the price).

/me can't wait for bluelight wii tourneys on the wi-fi connection, as well.

I'll get one eventually too. The control intrigues me, I'm a Nintendo fanboy of sorts, and there is no fucking way I'm paying that much for one of the other systems.

Besides all my friends will have either an Xbox or PS3 so it's not like I'm missing out anyways...

fun is much more important that realistic graphics. i will definitely be buying one of these at some point

besides, no other system will ever come out with games as good as either mario kart of the zelda franchise. those two alone are worth buying prety much any nintendo product

^Don't forget Metroid!!

Metroid Prime was one of the last games I actually bothered to finish.

So what about the games on the other systems that offer both fun AND good graphics? Besides, a lot of the reviews from the Wii booth at E3 made it sound like the whole control system is a novelty more than anything else. It even seemed to make some of the games (the new Zelda for instance) a little clunky.

Either way, I'm happy with my XBox.

cheapest system, insane backward compatability (the wii, that is). Probably going to have to get one. Can't argue with the price.

What were they thinking when they called it Wii though? :\

My boyfriend was telling me about it being motion sensitive which will be good for when I'm leaning into the corners :D

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, heh, nm..

I've only read good reviews and that the control is very precise and helpful. Who knows for sure until it comes out though.

If the control system works out ok, and they produce another smash bros title (and of course they will), I'll pick one up. Stoned smash bros leaves other video games in the dust.

I'm jumping on as a Wii fangirl. Complete backwards compatability. That's what I"m buying it for. To play my oldschool games on it. Original Kirby anyone?

smash bros is way awesome, I bet people will accidentally punch each other and stuff while playing it on the wii :D

Backwards compatability is stupid. Instead of allowing the system to reach its full potential, you make sure it can play old games. They can just reformat the games to be released on the new system; you can buy the outdated systems with games for cheap as shit.

The GameCube sucked, and this is going to suck too. Nintendo lost it after 64. Metroid, as fun as it may be, is not the number one FPS. In fact, Nintendo isn't even the console for FPSs (although 64 was). If you want FPS games, you go computer or Xbox. Nintendo is known for kiddy games.

And gaming is all about online. Nintendo still hasn't gone online, and this will be their first online system.

What did the Gamecube have? Smash Bros, and that's it.
