I have not heard anything from Earth, Fire, or Sage in awhile. I have looked online and now for the first occasion in three decades there are no recent updates. Erowid has not posted on instagram in months. These folks are a legend here in the Netherlands. Do you guys have any news?

Just that drugsdata, one of the only large scale drug testing services in the US, has been unable to accept submissions since the 30th of April, and no further information has been provided.

I've inquired about what is going on through several channels (both online and within my network of real world harm reduction people) but haven't gotten any clear answer as to what's going on. I know one of the erowids mentioned that they were moving around the time that DD took a hiatus, but there was no further information provided as to when they planned to restart. Their post to reddit at that time seemed to be a relatively routine break from operations due to the move, but given how long this has been going on for, I am also a bit concerned.

I did hear somewhere that there may have been issues with their lab certification which could be a factor in all of this.

During the time they've been down, we've seen a big increase in methamphetamine contaminated with fentanyl, heard reports of changes to the dope/fentanyl markets in parts of the US, and have also heard reports of changing properties of heroin in western Europe. Not having drugsdata is creating a blindspot in some of these instances that is troubling to me.

Perhaps the whole thing was deliberately orchestrated to worsen the drug situation and further provide fuel for the anti-drug propaganda machine. You have to understand the government doesn't give a fuck about harm reduction to really see what the whole thing is about, and harm reduction is one thing that they pretend to care about but really don't.

I expect to see further problems in the future as governments are starting to tighten the screws. Someday you won't even be able to buy certain vitamins without a prescription.

Drug contamination killing people who the government sees as dispensable doesn't present a problem to the government or politicians/congressmen. That is...until drug contamination kills one of their own, but you can bet they have drug labs certified to test drugs that their kids are taking, just fuck the general addicts who are poor because the government doesn't care about them. Sorry about being cynical but I'm frankly so frustrated by all this bullshit recently. Not long ago we saw MDMA no longer being recommended as a therapy to treat PTSD. What next? Will Big Government start rewinding all the progress we've made on cannabis?

One would think governments don't like people dying, but when you look at it from the angle of the government trying to make examples out of certain people, it starts to make sense. It's OK for them, I guess, to take out a few desperate addicts and present a "tough on drugs" approach when we here all know the truth behind their agenda - which isn't about drugs, but about targeting certain people, as that's what it was always about.
