PRESIDENT SIGNS ANTI-DRUG MEASURE
WASHINGTON - President Bush said Friday that drug users aid terrorists who get their money from global trafficking in narcotics. "If you quit drugs, you join the fight against terrorism," he said.
Bush offered a new argument in the fight against drugs while signing a bill to expand a federal anti-drug program over the next five years.
"Drug abuse threatens everything, everything that is best about our country," he said. "It breaks the bond between parent and child. It turns productive citizens into addicts. It transforms schools into places of violence and chaos. It makes playgrounds into crime scenes. It supports gangs at home."
"And abroad, it's important for Americans to know that trafficking of drugs finances the world of terror, sustaining terrorists," the president said.
The administration has linked the al-Qaida network in Afghanistan to heroin trafficking. The terrorist group, led by Osama bin Laden, is suspected in the Sept. 11 attacks on America.
The bill signed by Bush expands the Drug-Free Communities Support Program, which helps community groups reduce illegal drugs. The program's budget is about $50 million, and would almost double in five years under the bill.
"Over time, drugs rob men, women and children of their dignity and of their character," Bush said. "Illegal drugs are the enemies of ambition and hope and when we fight against drugs we fight for the souls of our fellow Americans."

The more I hear him speak, the more I am sure that he is an incompetent, unintelligent assbandit.

I think he was born with his ass at lips height actually. And so much comes out of it...

Dip. Hon. Phd. Mas.

Isn't another way of saying it: "if drugs were not illegal then there'd be no black market for them and terrorists would have to get their money from somewhere else" (which they no doubt would be able to).
The cause and effect in Bush's statement is so blatently backwards, and the scary thing is that 90% of the population is going to believe it.

Fuck this kinda shit scares me...
I have to say. They've just considered it a good opportunity to gain support for the failing drug war, "You're helping the war on terrorism and keeping the country safe"
Fucken bullshit,
Sorry, i'm just pissed off at this.

THATS MADNESS!!!!!!!!!

Come on guys.............what's he suppose to say????? Let's be realistic here.......I don't think people have thought about the consequences of decriminalising drugs and where to draw the line. I'm sure it would be a much scarier world if we had many more not drug users but drug abusers roaming in society. Human behavior in general tends to be compulsive. It's easy for those of us who have control and do not let chemicals rule our life but their are many out their where dependency becomes an issue.
The drug experience is a very self gratifying and selfish experience..........probably not hurting anyone but ourselves. I enjoy it for my own reasons which I do not have to justify to anyone.
But let's be realistic, society is all about the finding the right balance. I'm not saying that the right balance is where we are at but I certainly don't think we would be any closer to finding that point by the governments drastically changing policy on drugs.
For just as much ignorance the governments may show in relation to this issue, there is just as much ignorance shown from the other side of the fence. It is a very complex issue facing society that cannot afford to be oversimplified.
Anyway, my two bobs worth.
Be safe and party hard!!!!!!!
