Hello everyone! I just found and got onto this site. Wow! Can't believe this is out there for people to use. LOL
Sure hope I don't break any rules right off the bat! I'm pretty blunt when I speak. hahaha

I just got myself a Pain Management Specialist a couple weeks ago and it has been a runway of medications to take care of my pain. I have been on percocet for the last couple of years...but that has been petering out on me lately. Now this specialist is trying all kinds of stuff on me. First was the butrans patch, then Lyrica, and now oxyneo. From my experience in the last few weeks, I was kinda thinking that the 10 mg Butrans patch along with OxyNeo and then percocet for breakthrough, would be the best for me. Am I crazy to be thinking this doctor would give me a regimen like this? Thanx guys

Welcome to Bluelight. You seem like "one of us" - are you a drug addict?
Don't consider myself a drug addict. I'm definitely a pill addict. Take about 30 vitamins/day LOL....was on xanax for 32 years (not high dose .5 mg 2Xday). Doc took me off xanax to put me onto percocet for pain. I am a recovering alcoholic though. After doc issued percocet, I had absolutely zero desire to drink again. I was happy for first time in my life. However, percs have worn out mostly.....along with the pain management & the happiness. Ugg! Still have not drank booze, but now I have a pain management doc who is experimenting with stuff. Tried the oxyneo at my request, but it made me so dam tired at work. So now the Butrans patch along with percs for breakthrough. He wants to eventually try suboxone and I'm terrified. I don't wanna go through any type of detoxing to go on sub. Been there too many times trying to get off booze. Mostly horrible experience ever....every time.

thank you for the welcome to Bluelight. Much appreciated. :)

Please excuse me, but this is actually nothing special. I've often seen how even heavy alcoholics stop drinking from one day to the next when they start taking opiates.
This is surprising because the receptors that are occupied in the brain are actually different - but it works.
It just doesn't work the other way around. So back to alcohol from opiates..
