Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to this or any site regarding SSRI's. However, at anti depressants I am an old pro. I have run the gamut since the intro of Prozac on the late '70s. I've been on Pristique for 7 years (50mg) daily now and nothing has done a damn thing for me. I am prone to terrible fits of rage, and bouts of depression with anxiety and sometimes suicide attempts. Although I believe the SSri's have caused the suicidal attempts and the benzodiazipines have created more anxiety, I've been a loyal victim to the "Pharmaceutical Machine". I tried to die last week by taking 90 Pristique, about 30 clonies and approx. 60 xanax and still woke up at 6AM!! (although feeling quite "bouncy" for a few days) I'm assuming I have built up quite a tolerance, especially at 5'4" and 93lbs.
OK, so I'm FED UP with all this crap and want off. I'm trying lots of food based vitamins, fish oil, and would like to add tryptophan and inositol to this, plus a healthy diet. I have already started eating better or should I say I started eating again, forgot to mention the anorexia.
Can anyone help with "brain zaps"? I need more info on tryptophan and inositol. How much to take and how to take it. My dreams are nightmarishly out of control and I'm having cold sweats at night. I am caring for my elderly mother who is dying of cancer and I do realize this complicates my emotions even further.
Thanks for any advice at all.

Hey there, welcome to bluelight
Sorry to hear about your problems and your mom's cancer.

I think dimenhydrinate (gravol/dramamine) can help with the brain zaps. Are you currently off the drugs?

how are you doing now?

5htp has helped my brain zaps when I had them.

If you get off your meds it will probably make things worse. You could become more suicidal. I recommend checking in to a hospital.

Do you use any other drugs?

Do you have a therapist?

Anti-psychotics may be something to ask about. They can help you eat, sleep, and regain conscious control.

Whatever you do, if you're feeling suicidal, please go the hospital.
