New MA weed laws

Do the new laws for the decriminalization of weed apply only to MA residents? If i am from another state, and am caught smoking, do the laws apply to me or do I still get in trouble?

If your in MA, your fine.. Just don't get caught by a fed ;) haha.
 
they apply to anyone traveling in the state. Dont even need to be a US citizen...

edit: although i should mention lots and lots of towns in the state are adding Public smoking fines of 100-300$, in addition to the $100 ticket if ur smoking it in public. Although nearly all the states in new england have decriminalized pot to a certain extent. Before January they wern't really busting anyone for under an oz of pot unless it was a really small town or something.
 
thats cool but why do they still have such harsh penalties for paraphernalia?
 
^It's a bullshit loophole, but they're never enforced. The police just take or smash your piece.

Not that it's any consolation when the cops nab your $100 pipe. Fuck, I miss you Zanzibar.
 
Cops in more populated areas of New Hampshire (boarding Mass) don't even bust you for tree unless you've got some serious weight.

Cops in mass won't even bother with the ticket many times. I have SEVERAL stories of being let off.

You have nothing to worry about in mass if you keep your head down when you smoke.
 
worrrrdddddddddddddd. sounds good to me. i guess i must have misread something somewhere. puts me a bit more at ease when in MA.
 
I live right near Boston.

The penalty is if you have an ounce or less it will be deemed personal use as long as it's not in baggies separated by the gram for example (obvious distribution) you will get a fine if it's not bagged up (100-200$ I believe but someone correct me if I'm wrong) and will not get arrested.

Anything more than an ounce then that's another story and being taken in is a possibility if the cop is a real asshole but most 5-0 around here just take your stuff and smoke it themselves, good ol massachusetts 8)

What I'm currently wondering is about the good spice-a-like products and if caught smoking that is a crime? I mean it doesn't even look/smell like cannabis but with my luck they would think its Salvia and give me a hard time...

The JWH series is still unscheduled but clearly states "not for sale in USA", not to get off topic I was just curious if there is an answer to this but I don't think anyone knows as of yet. However, the germany bust revealed an HU chemical in a blend (scheduled) and that concerns me, funny thing is that it wasn't in all blends even of the same brand, odd stuff..

The worst you will get is a ticket unless you've got some serious weight on you.
 
Nope, cops don't even right tickets most of the time if you are nice and upfront with them... There are bad ones, though.
