Location
On the Border of Indecision, thank you Jimmy!
I'm on other forums as well as this one and usually I can see someone's sex and possibly age. Location would be nice but some folks don't want people knowing where they're from, no prob. As I was reading on the LSR forum and during a sex/orgasm discussion, half the time I couldn't tell if the poster was male or female. In those cases particularly, it makes a difference! All in all, it's just nice to get an idea of who is posting. Each sex sees things differently and it's nice to know who's saying what. I went to my profile and it is filled in but I'm not sure if it shows or not.

What's up and is it something the admin guys/gals have any desire to deal with? Many thanks and I appreciate all you do!!!

Gender could be added to the postbit legacy template fairly easily. If enough people ask for it, then it's achievable.

Age has recently come up in another Support thread. Although the request/suggestion in that thread was slightly more specific (making age mandatory), I got the impression that people did not want age to be displayed.

All fields will not display if no data is entered by the end-user.

many people post their gender in their profile. some also include full birthdays... to see someone's profile, click on their name and select the first option "view profile"

i personally like the minimalist look of what is displayed. i think more info would make it look cluttered.

^ We already have a thread discussing the topic of "liking" posts here. Probably better off posting this stuff there as to not derail this thread.

On the topic of gender, I think that it's fine how we have it now (listed on the persons profile, and optional). If it were to be displayed under my avatar on each of my posts, I would probably opt not to put my gender down. I don't think that it is relevant enough to appear next to posts under the avatar if people were to chose to list it there if the option was given.

^Agreed.

I like keeping it in the profile and keeping it optional. Keep Facebook off Bluelight.

Minimalist is better. The greatest site on the Internet (this one) is the definition of minimalist.

Whoever moved the off-topicness to the other thread, thanks.

Split from that, originally posted here:

Four bits of info in addition to username and status are enough. If you're really curious what gender someone is (although "gender" is never appropriate ;)), hold down CTRL and click their username--This way you won't lose where you are on the page. :P
