Hi my name is Theresa and I'm new to this site. I live in Florida and have been
with my pm doctor for more than 3 years. When I saw him Wednesday, he told me about what's happening with the new law here. Which is the doctors will no longer be able to dispense meds for more than a 3 day emergency script. He may not be able to afford to keep his practice because of the revenue he will lose. Suddenly, the pharmacies here seem to be price gouging with oxycodone and people are flipping out all over.
So I had switched to vicodin out of financial necessity. Anybody else going through this? I will be sad if my doctor has to close up shop because he's a sweetheart. Pretty much been my primary physician since I lost my job and health insurance last October. thanks for listening! ~Theresa

Welcome...yeah I'm from FL too and the whole Rx scene is getting ridiculous, It'll be shut down in the next few years and most likely lead a lot of people to using Heroin IMO

Welcome T. Calderone..!! : ) My sister is having problems in Tampa with her insurance not covering certain meds and dose strengths of oxycodone. Her doc is an asshole and kicked her out of PM cause she had weed in her ua. My doc is real KooL about having weed in your system and does not care, cause he says it helps with pain, but if you have anything else like amphetamine or cocaine he will kick you out. ..so my sister will be seeing my doc next week.
Sorry to hear about your problems with your meds. Hope the vicodin helps you out, cause that is a big step down from oxycodone. Maybe you can try ms contin?

Thanks guys! So there are pharmacies here in Broward charging 7 dollars a piece for 30 mg IR oxycodone. Can you believe it? But with the shortage here, people will pay just so they will not get sick. I really hope my doctor doesn't decide to close his practice. He's been losing clients steadily for the past 18 months (his PA told me this before she quit) The trouble is, he's not like a "pill mill" doctor and people get turned off and go on to a more lax doctor. One that doesn't mind if you live in another state or don't have proper documentation of your illness. It's a sad state of affairs I tell you!

The 3 day law didn't pass, it was removed from the bill that did pass. It was written in it originally but removed later on. And it was only for cash paying. Things are hard here at the moment but with the prices you need to search better. In a mom and pop my 180 30 can run $400 but at walgreens and walmarts I go to in Orlando I get the 30s 90 15s and 60 bars for $260 with the walgreens discount card.

Also, if you're looking for cheaper prices...always try the small, mom and pop pharmacies. They usually always have them also instead of having to wait. Walgreens can be an ass sometimes.
