Anyone else like this?
About 6 months ago I started smoking pretty much everyday (about 5-6 times).

There are some days when I don't smoke at all, and it sucks. Obviously I'm not talking about physical withdrawals but I just hate being sober. I'm usually in an overall shitty mood, my patience is shorter, I feel like nothing is ever fun/worth doing anymore, and I find life dull unless I'm high.

A buddy told me that going to the gym helps him with stress, and I already decided to start a membership soon.

Is there anything else I can do besides exercise to cope with these psychological withdrawals?

yea i'm the same way. i can handle a day without smoking, but after that i just get moody and i'm craving it so bad.

like you said, exercising helps a lot and gets your mind off of things, and personally i get a 'workout' high after every workout.

keeping yourself busy can go a long way; hobbies, video games, going shopping, etc. can help you cope

Certain sentences in your post could indicate some depression. You no longer garnish any enjoyment from hobbies that used to bring you pleasure? You are only happy unless you are in an altered state of mind? These can be warning signs of depression.

Try new hobbies and to keep yourself occupied. Read some books? Go out with friends? Learn to play an instrument? Have sex? Learn to cook? Learn to draw? etc etc.

Good luck.

I been smoking about 4-5 years, the past 3 years straight. In the past 6-12 months ive started to experience this, except I just have a much shorter fuse when i dont smoke for a day or 2. Also weed has fucked my sleep up and appetite.

My first proper meal of the day will usually be dinner, only if i smoke before though. Can go a whole day, or 2 even without eating, even though ill be, kinda hungry i got no appetite at all. And once you start getting stoned everynight ull become dependant on weed getting you to sleep.

This is in my experience, and my mates are quite the same. Im 18 btw

Also def sounds like you have some kind of depression lurking, I went through a bit of counselling to try get of weed, had become anxious as and thought I was suffering some depression. Never got off the weed either.

From my veiw, if you are experiencing this, this early on into smoking weed I would say it wont be long before you are fully addicted and get these "side effects" as i now call em, if you do keep smoking every day.

Weed also fucks you up socially, hard.

When I was a teenager and addicted to cannabis, I was only able to function well when I was high.

The advice I have for you is, treat your cannabis like the medicine it is so it will last. As much as it feels good to smoke multiple joints in a session, it is not necessary. Take a few hits per hour, and you will find that you will have enough to be well all the time.

The ability to be long-sighted is something that one usually acquires with age. If you can learn that and put it into use while you are young, it will help you immensely.

Peace.

You just need to occupy your mind in other ways - read a book, for instance. And stop treating being stoned like it's the norm. You should aim to spend more time sober than high. That way you'll be able to deal with being sober, and being high will be more enjoyable as well.

Weed is great, but being stoned all day everyday is a waste of time.

Take a long break for maybe a month .

For sure you will feel depressed for around a week or two.

But like yeah gym is good , try and chill with friends , go out, watch tv ,

And just do stuff to occupy yourself

I'm going through what u are . And man it's fucking hard . Right now I'm on one week and i can't sleep and I can't stop thinking about beautiful Mary Jane with her sticky touch .

But like i try an take at least 3 one month breaks every year . And it can be done cos iv done it b4

this all depends on your strength of will and mental strength.

ive never had a problem stopping weed or any of this depression stuff.

some people just work well with cannabis. others dont.
not everyone is wired for it, and some are more wired than others.

but for sure OP, stay occupied, and cut out the ganja for a few weeks/ month till u feel normal.
dont smoke so much, holmes

learn to be mindful/meditate. it has an opiate-psychedelic synergistic like effect on me.

Seriously it's been shown to work and improve physical/mental quality of life- and it wont cost you a trip to the dealer and an arm or leg.

Their are plenty of internet sites, start searching. You must force yourself through a brief mental irritability state to break through into yourself.

I'll make a thread

^ i disagree, meditation is merely the brain going into an alpha state.
more relaxed, suggestible, and easier to control/deprogram.

yes, im a stoner who is into psychology, hypnotism, body reading etc.

but i can see how if in a safe (on your own) environment, meditation can help you.
nobody around to mess with your head in that state...

i fucked myself up bad in my teen years by smoking every day for 4 or 5 years. now i'm predisposed to depression. its good but everything in moderation.

^
um poster above me please pm me lol

I am smoking everyday (apart from I take 3 breaks a year usually around 3-8 weeks long ) since I was 15 and now I'm nearly 17

:-S

Im 27 and smoked pretty much daily for about 13 years....Ive been dry for 3 days, like my longest in at least 3 years its really not an issue. have yerself a nice wank, thatll tide u over.

I used to be like that for about 2 years. I didn't enjoy it. I would smoke an 8th every 3 days. I just got tired of being burnt out all the time. I stopped for a few months and after that I didn't really enjoy smoking as much. I've grown fond of the moments I spend sober. Sobriety is a necessary evil and I've learned to accept it.

I have the same problem...i do all drugs due to boredom pretty much. Keeping busy helps. I just moved to a new city so getting healfcare, enrolling in school, lining up a job, learning the second language here...just trying to keep occupied. I only smoke like a quarter in a week and a half but I used to smoke an eighth a day, not counting all the opiates.

Probably gonna try the workout thing soon, not much else to do and it's actually productive.
