Trying heroin for the first time tonight and i'm not sure how to find information on it. There are so many threads on heroin i'm not sure how to refine my search. All I know is that it will be brown, my guy snorts it and most likely came through from New Orleans(live 60 miles from NO). I need to know what to call the shit, I search brown heroin and so much comes up I don't know where to start.

Medical info' on pure Heroin/Diamorphine Hydrochloride
Hey Tricomb I don't know how to upload PDF files to BL but this link http://www.medicines.org.uk/emcmobile/medicine/18810/pil for a diamorphine hydrochloride injection patient leaflet pdf file. It needs to be included in that Heroin basic/beginners guide.
I used to personally own a Diamorphine PIF (Patient Information leaflet) as I'd scored 2 amp's of pharm' in the box. Sadly my mam through it including the empty box and amp's out one time.

Also I apologize in advance, but lemme just say, unless you're already hooked on opiates (painkillers like oxy, percs, opana, etc... Or poppy pods/seeds, opium, etc...) Then please don't try heroin! Its def a lot of fun and very enjoyable at first, but once your hooked its anything but fun and you will forever rue the day youu tried the stuff. There are just 2 possible outcomes with heroin: the first is that you never stop using and eventually die an addict. The second is that you eventually stop using heroin completely and forever. So unless you are the rare exception who can try pure joy once and have the will power to never do it again, then don't start using it! If your choice is addiction/death or quitting heroin, then why not avoid having to quit and going through w/d's and just not start!

The heroin in New Orleans is powder heroin, not tar. All the states to the west of it have tar, and all the states to the east have powder, except for Ohio and the Carolinas which have both.

well, dope isn't really dope, as the heroin around here is pretty much exclusively brown powder, but comes in the form of base and thus must be heated with ascorbic acid (or some other acid) prior to injection. i know this doesn't really apply to north american skag, but the point still stands.

ok brown jheroin is usually type #3 - it is popular in the UK (90% of h is this). It is mainly Afghan. It does go about the US also usually the purity is good. Now there is type#4 Heroin which (in theory) should be purer however usually it gets cut alot and aimed at the younger generation.
Type #3 Heroin is brown and opiumy smell - you CAN snort it however it doesn't work so well. Smoking is the best way. Now for IV you add citric acid/.
Type #4 Herion I had twice once was pure pharm (white and no smell) other was "YELLOW PAKI" from Denmark. This was 70-90% and this type is SNORTable and ivable but smoking is difficult.

^ I think the OP is just referring to it as brown heroin but it's really #4 heroin. Most of the powder heroin in the US is between off-white, beige, grey, or light brown. I'm thinking the OPs friend just got some that is brown in color, but it's still #4.

The OP is in the United States, NOLA, so chances are he has no.4, we don't really have no.3 heroin base in the US.
Thanks for the guide, tricomb. So BTH is heroin #4 but not all #4 is BTH? Or is the powder just BTH cut further? Is the powder good for snort and/or smoking?

^This. Where I come from the only "brown down" we get is powder heroin, it's not actually base. I was told it just has different cuts in it than the whiter stuff (anyone know if that is correct?). It isn't a statement about quality though, as white powder can just as easily have a lot of cut in it, you really can't tell the purity from the colour.

What do you need to know...whatever you get...you do...that is addiction...you will become a slave to your dealer, so unless you already have a huge fentanyl or oxymorphone habit you are slowly falling down the path of severe addiction. I beg you to not try it, or at the very least, never inject.
Is it really so much different from all the cheap oc and oxymorphone that used to float around? I mean I was able to manage that habit fairly well for a couple years. Now since the only thing I can get is morphine and roxy it's very manageable. I know this may be an oversimplification, but heroin is strong ass morphine right? Is it not the availability(in some areas) and price that give it an aura of some kind of mind-gripping wonder dust?
I've always avoided the needle because of the fear I would enjoy it too much. I suppose that's not the best deterrence though.

I find this to be fairly accurate. Any of the stronger opioids/opiates have about the same addiction potential. The thing with heroin is that it's a pretty unlimited drug, so a lot of people can quickly and easily find some cheap H. I know people that stuck to pharmaceuticals and actually have a worse habit than my heroin use, so a lot of it is still up to how the user goes about it.
Heroin #4 is the HCL form of the drug. Both tar and powder are #4, but the powder in other countries is in a base form.
