what can i do ,restricted?
take driver improvement(wich i need to anyway)

anyway guys thanks

That's my state as well. AFAIK, restricted is only to/from work and related activities. That may include school and driving to and from your driver improvement class. I've done both the classroom and online driver improvement in Virginia (both for speeding/reckless charges that got dropped down to a lesser charge upon completion of driver improvement - but my license wasn't restricted as a result so I think your situation is different than mine was). Do you have contact number at the DMV or another state officer for contact about your restriction?

Here's two quick resources I found that are Virginia-specific:

Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles - Restricted Driving Privileges

Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles - Reinstating Driving Privileges

The Virginia DMV page is actually pretty helpful. I would still recommend speaking to somebody at DMV directly about it before you try and drive on restricted. I know the Virginia State Police are a pretty hardcore law enforcement agency and will pull you even if they have a suspicion that you're driving on a restricted license. They can run the licenses associated with a particular vehicle's license plate as well, so its not a good idea to drive on a restricted unless you know you'll be okay in the eyes of the good ol' VSP, not including local police departments.

well dont they have to GIVE u restricted before its considered driving on restricted ?

i mean its just points so why couldnt i get restricted ,should i give my name if i give them a call

I believe Virginia has to give you reasonable notice (usually in the form of a letter mailed to you) that your license has been suspended or revoked, I don't know about restricted though.

I would just call DMV, if the don't ask for your name, you don't have to give it, but they probably will ask you for it since they'll have to look up your information to figure out your exact situation.

usually work and school you cant even get gas legally thats a fact in ny you are bound by rules to go directly to and from work/school. you cannot drive as part of your job i.e. delivery.
